THIS IS IT This is the one you've been waiting for! REAL OLD SCHOOL EBAY AUCTION NO RESERVE The way it should be! 1967 Mustang Fastback 2+2 GT-A S code 390 4V 320 HP C-6 Auto with 3.25 limited slip 9" Bullet Dark Moss Green Metallic VIDEO COPY & PASTE LINK BELOW http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zGEvRYg7Ww8 This car was restored in the 80's, garaged without being completely finished, and sat for 20+ years! I would call this a true "Barn Find" when I found it, if it weren't in such good condition and actually stored in a locked back garage of a guy that has a couple hundred cars, and a small wrecking yard. When I got the car, all I did was clean it up, drive it and tinker with little things wrong as I went, even the emblems were never put back on after it was painted Red! Yea, I know... what were they thinking painting a Bullet car red? Hey, I guess it was the 80's...red was cooler than green, "Bullet" meant nothing, and Big Block just meant "gas hog". Body & Chassis When I got the Mustang I just put some old emblems on that I had lying around, cleaned it up, fixed little things as I drove it, and put some red paint in the chips to make it 10 foot away street pretty, until I got around to fully restoring it. There was very little rust in the car, the factory undercoating looks like mud under a car but it seems to have done its job well, the only speakable rust in the car was the passengers side floorboard. So I ordered a new panel and welded it in, I restore cars for a living and specialize in Mustangs, the panel was solid welded in, ground semi smooth, and undercoated.(All pictured) To be perfect, in the future restoration, just grind down what's left of the welds to a smooth finish and you'll never be able to tell it was replaced. It has air shocks, I repaired the line that was broke and they aired right up which lets you control the rake to your preference. I also bled the brakes, they're still a little soft still so they probably need bled again and adjusted. That's basically all I've done to the body & chassis, but I will tell you what I know and was told. The previous owner told me he got too squirrely in it once and hit something in the passenger rear quarter. It was replaced in the 80's restore, which means the bad 1/4 was cut out, the new one installed with an inch overlap or so, and tack welded. To make it right in the future restoration I would simply trim the overlap off, weld it solid, and grind it off so you would never be able to tell it was replaced. The trunk drop was damaged also, but never replaced, its still wrinkled under there, (as well as a dent in the well that can easily be straightened), and a plate of metal was welded in as a new trunk drop, so that would also need to be done right during the future restore(a simple fix). Other than that the body & chassis is extremely solid. It has the original Door Data Plate. The Mustang VIN and Data Plate decoders have it as a GT-A(auto), however, it doesn't have many of the tell tale emblems and package items, so the decoders might be wrong, but on the other hand it didn't have most the emblems when I got it either, so perhaps they were trying to make a sleeper in that 80's restore, or it just didn't have some of those GT items from Ford? Some odd special order? From doing this over the last 25 years and knowing guys who worked in the factory back then, I've learned to never say never, and Ford sometimes had the guys on the line put what they had available into a car...if it was out of stock, wasn't specially ordered, and didn't match the tag, so what. At any rate, it comes back on the Mustang VIN and Data Plate decoders as a GTA (pasted below), I was going to get a Marti Report but they're back logged 6 months...I didn't want to wait that long to sell it. So take it as you will, but there's the info. Chrome is average good condition for a 45 year old driver. No seals are ripped, but the trunk and ones under the doors are painted, you could probably strip it off with lacquer thinner, but why bother when you will probably be replacing them when restoring it in a couple years anyway. The years sitting in the garage before I got it didn't do the enamel paint any favors, from time checks/cracks/crazing/chips from stuff knocking around the car over the years, it shows its wear, it looks good from 10 feet, but it needs a restore. Plus it was the 80's...appreciation for these cars was not what it is today and the methods and materials of yesteryear weren't what they are today either, so it needs restored using current techniques, materials, and craftsmanship that reflects the present value of this car. Which, I think you will agree, means it needs to go down to the metal and go back to the original Bullet Dark Moss Green Metallic. Engine & Drive Terrain When I got the Mustang I just cleaned and freshened up the motor and engine compartment cosmetically to make it weekend show worthy. I replaced the fuel filter, tinkered with the carb. It will undoubtedly need more small maintenance, as you drive it. Even just before this video I had to tinker with the carb because the accelerator pump was sticking making it a bit hard starting, and I had to replace a freeze plug because it was leaking from rust pin holes(not froze out). So expect a bit of that. Other than some tinkering, I haven't had to do anything more under the hood, but I will tell you what I know and was told. The 390 was upgraded at the time of the 80's restore also. What they lacked in body knowledge they made up for in engine know how, it was just after the end of the brute muscle era, and the factory parts we pay dearly for now (if we can find them) were available through junk yards, swap meets, and hot rodder contacts. The owner said they upgraded to a mildly built 428 at the time of the 80's restore. They kept the desirable C7AE Mustang heads (now worth over $1000) and added Hooker headers (now $600). Exhaust is functional, but has leaks (as all Headers do) and has some pin holes that could be welded up, but the glass packs give it a nice throaty sound. When I bought the car the previous owner put the present Holly carb on it, as the old one was all dried up from little use over the years. I forgot to get the old one from him...oops, I still might be able to. I also would go through the seals/gaskets while the engine is out during the future restoration as the intake does seep a little, and I'm sure the rest could use it too since its been sitting so long without regular use. Nonetheless, as the video shows, it runs out impressively. The tranny is a C6 I didn't get much info on that, but again as the video shows it shifts strong. The rear end is a 9" 3.25 limited slip(posi) could probably use a rebuild, but as the video shows she'll swing sideway's for ya at the street dance. Interior & Misc I replaced the carpet when we repaired the passenger floor, as the old one was starting to time fade. The interior is good for a driver but will need restored also. The dash paint and chrome is fading and a couple pieces have small cracks. The dash pad has no cracks, but you know how they get wavy looking over time. Seats don't have any rips, but show some little wear on the drivers side edge piping, and they need a good cleaning as there is still some fine red over spray dust that could be cleaned off. The gauges seem to work fine, the oil pressure gauge was upgraded to an under dash aftermarket unit when the 428 went in. Radio is an 80's...nuff said, but it works. The headliner has a couple rips, but the largest one is hidden under the drivers visor. Chrome on belts, knobs, side vents, etc. has a little pitting as you would expect on a car of its age. Door panels, and door pulls are not ripped up or cracked or anything but show age. Overall, its just a nice driver interior for 45 years old. The heater blower motor squeals sometimes. The headlights and taillights work, but the markers/blinkers need some tinkering and cleaning and bulbs, same with dash/interior lights, you know how it is with older cars, some lights work sometimes others don't, corrosion sets in and the bulbs need replaced, or removed and scotchbrited, or some little thing before they will work consistently. Tires need replaced, they're weather checked etc, but they have tread and hold air though pass rear has a slow leak that will go flat in a few days. The Magnum 500 wheels look really good for being 45 years old, no major bends or rust. Windshield needs replaced as it has a chip in it and someone ran the wipers when they were either bad or pushing debris and scratched it. Most of the glass seems good, though I did notice a spot where someone touched the drivers glass with a DA on the lower edge. I'm being picky, but I don't want you to expect a Barret Jackson show car, just because it looks good. Again, overall its a good driver for a 45 year old car. Options The options seem to scream, "Get in, sit down, shut up, and hold on for a 1/4 mile...or GET OUT SISSY!" No power robbing PS, no weight adding fold down, no unreliable shift missing 4 speed, no horsepower soaking A/C, no PB discs that fail at the end of the 1/4 from vacuum loss...no frilly' skirts...just 100% brute. If there were a predecessor to the 69 drag pack option this would be it. Given the Mustang came from a guy that has 200 or so cars, and a small wrecking yard, if you told me this car was ordered by some famous 60's drag race team as a 1/4 mile car I wouldn't doubt it one bit. Of course there is no way of knowing any of that for certain. But the bare bones, no nonsense, go fast options on this car remind me of the 2000 Cobra R's, or the new Cobra Jets. 320 HP 390 4V Big Block (the 428 no doubt does much better than that now), reliable and notoriously Bullet proof C6, equally Bullet proof limited slip 9" rear end...it all screams 1/4 mile car. Summary Its 99.9% complete now as a driver, as I'm sure there will be some little things it needs, not counting things that will need replaced when restored in the future. So why am I selling it? I have several Mustang's and two other 67 Fastbacks. One with a 427 we want to finish, I'm a resto-mod guy. This one makes the most sense not to resto-mod. So now I pass it on to you for your enjoyment. I will continue to work on some minor things as the auction goes, as I have spare time, so if there is some little thing you want me to check or focus on fixing, just let us know. If you're looking for a finished car, let us know, you probably won't find many guys out there that can do as good a job for the price, and I can give pictures of current and past projects, so let us know if that's the angle you're looking to go. But as this Mustang sits it's a great looking driver that gets stares sitting in the parking lot or going down the road. It does eventually need to be restored, but how often do you find an ORIGINAL BULLET DARK MOSS GREEN METALLIC S CODE 390 UPGRADED TO A 428 1967 MUSTANG FASTBACK That you can drive, tinker on, and enjoy until you're ready to restore it! And to top it all off, a REAL AUCTION... NO RESERVE! Please, it's hard enough to decide to sell one of these cars, so don't make me list this twice, if you cannot afford to pay please do not bid. Deposit of $500 to be made as soon as auction ends, so you may contact me as soon as the auction ends. I will meet you with a congratulatory email also. The Mustang will be sold to the next high bidder if contact is not made within 24 hours, so please do not delay. Balance to be paid in seven days via cashiers check, or some other reliable means. The Mustang will be stored indoors at my shop for a reasonable time as you arrange shipping. If you are close enough to pick it up in person, but need a place to stay, we can work something out for you and your wife(family/friend) to stay at our Bed & Breakfast (Bed & Breakfast at Tiffany's pictured behind the Mustang) just contact us ahead of time. How's that for the wife perk? I have perfect and substantial feedback, I've described this Beautiful Mustang in written picky detail from a buyers perspective, there are 24 pictures, the most eBay allows (I have over 100 more), and a 10 minute video...so no surprises, you know exactly how your new Mustang S code 390/428 Bullet will sound, run, and look. But if you have any other questions feel free to ask. All that's left is for you to feel, drive, tinker, and soak up the admiration of owning this true muscle car. Congratulations, on your beautiful new 67' Mustang, we'll meet at the end of the auction! Thank You! chad NEW! Its just something to give you a look underneath at how solid, factory undercoating is not pretty, but as you will see, I beat on the familiar rust zones with a hammer, punch it, and kick at it...its all solid.
