Vehicle Detail

1984 R100CS, 32k miles, clear MA title. Barn find from an actual barn. The miles are low but the bike is seriously patinaed front to back. There's 35 photos to tell the tale- The carbs are gummed up The tank is in need of relining The fairing gauges are missing Front master cylinder resevoir is cracked The paint is rough The battery is long expired However, It's a last edition CS and it's mostly all there. Including original hard bags w/key. It has the front signals as well (not on so that the fairing could be stored separately). Seat is good. Wheels look straight and roll well. Compression seems good. Tires look serviceable. Lights and horn work. Bodywork and tank are free of major dents. Needs someone to restore it. And that's not me. I picked it up recently with good intentions. But it likely will suffer the indignity of hard use and no polish if it stays with me. It'll get mechanically sorted but not restored if i keep it. Given it's relative "rarity", just wanted to see if there was someone that wanted to buy it to restore instead. I'm more interested in a bike that I can alter/edit/take-a-saw-to, without guilt. I had offered it up for trade recently on one of the BMW websites. Hint. I'm not sure how long since this was last running or on the road. I have never heard it run nor tried to start it. It is a project: it cannot be driven away; it will require work and parts to sort; it is not pristine nor concours. Bike is how you see it in the photos. Again, there's no photos of the hard bags or front signals but they are included. My description of the bike plus the 35 photos should tell the tale. But if you do have questions I'll answer as best as I can. The bike is sold AS-IS, WHERE-IS. It is a mechanical device and is sold with all faults known and unknown. The description above and the photos: you now know as much as I do about it. Please examine the photos closely as they should show all the faults and features. Bidders with feedback of less than 5 will need to email with contact information to confirm their serious intent to complete the sale: otherwise their bids will be cancelled. On Nov-26-12 at 10:19:37 PST, seller added the following information: There was a question about whether or not the bike is an actual CS model. The bike was sold to me as such and I am selling it as such. Researching the VIN reveals the that bike's model is shown as R100T (or simply R100 from some sources). This, according to sources found on the net, is correct for the final run of the CS model. If you are uncomfortable with this: please do not bid. Or, please also do you own research to feel comfortable with bidding on this motorcycle. I am by no means an authority in the history of BMW and their motorcycles. There are resources out there for researching further including the BMWOA, IBMWR, etc. The onus is on the bidder now to do due dilligence in researching this bike. I have done mine. I feel comfortable selling the motorcycle as it was represented to me and based on the information that I have read. Again, if you are not comfortable with this please do not bid. If there are questions that you believe I can answer by examining the bike and reporting those findings I will be happy to do so. I am not trying to misrepresent this motorcycle in any way. Please use the photos and VIN provided to do research that will make you comfortable with a bid.
