Vehicle Detail

For sale is my 1971 Honda CB350 resto-mod custom project. I now have two bikes and the wife says one has to go. I rebuilt as a period correct prototype that Honda should have built, hence the XP350 tank label for experimental. In the interest of ensuring that bidders absolutely know what they are bidding on, please understand that this is a 40+ year-old bike and it will require attention to enjoy it to the fullest. I have described the bike as accurately as possible, but it is not a new bike. Don’t get me wrong it is a great bike but it is not new. Here is a list of what was done and new parts that were installed. · The bike was totally disassembled and rebuilt. · New Mikuni VM30 carbs, throttle cable, and manifold boots. · New ignition switch mounted up under the tank for a cleaner look. · New horn mounted under the battery for a cleaner look. · All new cables. Tach, brake, clutch, speedometer. · New quick release gas tank cross over gas tube. · New coils and spark plug wires. · The engine top end was rebuilt. There was minimal wear on the bores so new standard rings were installed, the valves lapped, new gaskets, and new oil seals installed in the lower end. · The frame and swing arm were blasted, de-tabed, and smoothed. Then primed and painted with a stainless steel color. · The wheel hubs and rims were also painted stainless with black pin stripping. New bearings and seals were installed in both hubs. New Bridgestone Spitfire tires front and rear. · The gauges were taken apart, cleaned, painted stainless color, and new faces installed. · New custom seat and mounting hardware. · Custom three tone paint, gray, black and red. · The rear shocks were taken apart, cleaned and put back together with new paint. · The lower front forks and engine cases were polished. · New Superbike handle bars with new levers and grips. · The handle bar switches were disassembled, cleaned, and reassembled. · New battery. · Stainless steel hex screws on the engine and various other parts. · BMW style turn signals were installed in the ends of the handlebars. · The front fender was dropped closer to the tire, the rear fender bobbed with new taillight and the chain guard was modified for a smoother look. · New drive chain. · Harley Davidson mufflers that give it a great throaty sound. · The kick starter lever is off the bike because it would hit the heat shield on the muffler but it is included with the bike. The Challenges – I am not a carb tuner. While the bike runs great the carbs need some fine tuning in the intermediate range. There is some slight surging and the idle is not consistent. The bike has plenty of power through all gears. I have put about 170 miles on it since the rebuild. It gets a second wind once it hits about 5 grand on the tach. Please feel free to ask questions before bidding. I will require $250 deposit at the immediate end of auction. I also reserve the right to end the auction at any time as the bike is also for sale locally. Buyer responsible for pickup and shipping costs. Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE
