You are buying a mechanically superior used Volvo as virtually everything that will need fixing on an old Volvo has been done. The interior has an effective age of about 2-4 years showing almost no wear for a car of this age. I bought the car for my daughter from a Volvo mechanic for $3,000. in April of 2011. We have spent another $5,600. fixing every thing that has gone wrong. The typical repairs you face buying an old Volvo are behind you with this car. The odometer shows 159,221 . The engine work was done at 154,000.The car has had a complete valve job, timing chain replaced, brakes front and rear , new Interstate battery, new ignition cylinder and remote fob, brake vacuum assist replaced, air mass sensor replaced , oil pickup tubes, seals and hoses replaced , new starter motor , transmission mounts replaced, lower control arm bushings replaced and some other stuff I have forgotten.My daughter going to college and no longer needs the car and I don't have room in the driveway. My son is not driving for another 2-3 years.You can buy a car like this from a private party or dealer for $2500.- $3000. and spend all the money I have spent to make all the repairs I've made or you can buy this one and avoid them.
