This car is a 1997 VW Cabrio Karmann Edition being auctioned on E Bay on a NO RESERVE AUCTION. The high bidder will own the car. I purchased this car from a friend to continue fixing it up but dont have the time to finish. Current mileage is 138,953. The car has a clean title. The AC blows very cold. There is no stereo in the car. It has an automatic transmission that sometimes when shifting between 1st and 2nd gears, the RPM will go up to about 3k to 4k before shifting. Does not always do this, only sometimes, but when at speed on the highway, no problems. The tires are all in good shape with at least 50% of the tread left. The overall body of the car is in pretty good condition although could use a paint job at some point as the bumpers need to be painted and some other nicks and scratches on the car, nothing major. The interior seats are a tan leather. The front seats and wripped and cracked (see pictures) and could be re done. The back seat is in decent condition (see picture). There are seat covers in the trunk but I took them off for the pictures. The interior door panels are in decent condition (see photos). Also regarding the interior, the plastic from the steering column is off but the pieces are in the trunk. The check engine light is on I believe due to the catalitic converter and the air bag light is on. Check the VIN for any accidents if any. The driver side front window works, the passenger front window works but only from passenger side switch, the driver back window does not work, the passenger back window does work. The top is overall in good condition and works manually. There are no rips or tears and the back window is in tact. There are no leaks in the top. When starting the car and reving it up in park, you will hear a slight rattle in the exhaust which I believe is due to the catalitic converter. The following is a list of things have been done to the car which I have documentation for: 1) replaced cv axle driver side, rack n pinion steering 2) replaced water pump, cooling heater hose, new radiator 3) radiator fan, AC compressor, head gasket and headwork valves and seals 4) brake rotors, lower control arms, front brake pads, oil pan gasket Overall, the engine runs very well. There is a slight leak somewhere in a coolant hose or reservoir because about once a week when driving car, I add some coolant but I do not know where the leak is. This is a great car for someone to finish up interior work and drive all around with top down.............or drive it the way it is..................
