GORGEOUS 1979 ELDORADO RARE DIESEL EDITION: COLONIAL YELLOW, CABRIOLET TOP, IMMACULATE PEANUT BUTTER LEATHER INTERIOR! We are extremely pleased to present for your kind consideration a striking 1979 Cadillac Eldorado featuring its original Colonial Yellow exterior complimented by a dark Chocolate cabriolet top which is brand new and a virtually pristine Caramel pillowed leather interior. Each plush six-way power seat has a power recliner as well. A sparkling set of correct original "Ben Hur" wire wheel covers make a definitive statement! An unadulterated original example, the car has been meticulously maintained by only two previous owners. The original 5.7 liter V8 diesel engine was replaced under warranty with a GM Goodwrench service replacement engine by the Cadillac dealership which sold the car new. The warranty document is dated 1994 so we presume that to be when replacement was done. The new improved version corrected issues, e.g., too short head bolts, which compromised performance in the initial powerplants. The new Goodwrench replacement engines enjoy a stellar reputation for reliability and longevity. Recent other attentions include installation of new belts, shocks, batteries (it takes two), and premium whitewall radials (invoice provided for $468). Another important receipt ($470) describes comprehensive transmission service including replacement of pan gasket. Power windows, AM/FM cassette stereo, tilt steering wheel, door locks and trunk release all work, as do turn signals, gauges, speedometer and odometer. The ride quality is really smooth and quite powerful, getting 26-29 MPG on highway and low twenties around town.
