Up for bid is a 1971 International Loadstar 1600. The truck is the harder to find All Wheel Drive version from the Loadstar series. History: Truck is a former Air Force truck, retired and then sold or donated to a rural VFD that used it as a brush fire truck. Truck then passed through a few different owners until it came to me. Like many others before me I had good intentions and big plans but then found a much better candidate for my truck project. Overall condition: The truck runs, but it will need a tune up for sure. The brakes are air over hydraulic and they are not in working order. The compressor that supplies the air works great and the truck hold air, but likely a new brake booster and master cylinder are needed. Truck will also need some wiring done. On the plus side, the four wheel drive does work, the clutch and 4 speed transmission is good, and the body and frame are super clean and solid. The truck will also come with a winch and a spare transmission that is a 5 speed. The windows go up and down nice and easy, there is no rust anywhere. I had planned on getting the truck back in order and putting a flatbed on it, however a much better candidate came along so I am selling this one now. I can store the truck for a couple of weeks after the auction has ended and I will also throw in some fair 9x20 tires for the back of the truck but don't forget to remind me when you come to pick it up, I could really use that space in my barn. Speaking of pick up, the truck will need to be picked up, you aren't going to be driving it anywhere. I recommend at least a 20 ft. trailer and a 3/4 ton truck. I am guessing the truck weighs around 7000lbs as it sits. Truck is sold as is, no warranties expressed or implied, pick up only, and since it will not sell for a fortune, CASH only. Truck has clear Oklahoma title, pick up location is 44439.On Oct-28-12 at 15:30:58 PDT, seller added the following information: Update on the truck - Went to crank it up today and the truck only wants to crank on starting fluid. I am assuming it is a fuel delivery problem but I wanted to let everyone know that is interested just in case this is a deal breaker for them. I can still load the truck on a trailer onto a trailer using another truck of equal size for motive power.
