Up for auction is this 1959 Chevrolet Impala 4 door hardtop Sport Sedan. Original Oakland, CA built survivor vehicle with just over 61k miles from new. 2 owner vehicle that has been in the second owners possession since the late 70's. Purchased new from Chase Chevrolet in Stockton, CA and has spent it's entire lifetime in the dry San Juaquin Valley of California. Still has it's original 63 DMV issued black California plates front and rear that are registered to the car. Rare factory original black with red interior car. This car was repainted once long ago in it's original finish. Paint looks and shines well but does show signs of it's age. Factory options/features include: 283 V8 w/4b carb, Turboglide automatic transmission, power steering, 2 speed wipers, push button radio, hood insulation, reverse lights, glove box light, full hubcaps with optional spinners, front fender top spears/trim, and EZ-Eye glass. Runs and drives well: 283 starts and runs strong, transmission shifts smooth, brakes work well. Newly installed B.F. Goodrich Silvertown white wall tires. All electrical works as it should: turn signals, interior lights, dash lights, gauges, original radio (yes, it still works), horn, wipers, etc. Even has it's original 58/59 early Guide T-3 headlights that work as the day it came from the factory. Interior is all original and in amazing condition. The seats were covered in plastic from new which saved this interior to keep it as you see it today. The plastic covers were dry and brittle and have been updated with new plastic covers being recently installed again to keep this interior in excellent condition for another 50+ years. All of the original glass is in good condition with the exception of a small crack in the passenger front door glass. This vehicle is very dry and rust free: floors, quarters, fenders, rockers, hood, trunk, etc are all dry and original. Overall this is a very special survivor vehicle in one of the most desirable color combinations. It is quite possibly the nicest original Impala Sport Sedan in this color combo that you will ever find. This vehicle gets plenty of attention and appreciation wherever it goes.
