Vehicle Detail

1966 Pontiac GTO Convertible with numbers matching 389 Tri-Power engine This is a rare opportunity to invest in the car of your dreams! This sweet 1966 Pontiac Gran Turismo Omolgato convertible is being offered to the public in this auction at a modest reserve. This Pontiac was ordered new in Texas, and stayed there for its entire life until it ended up in the back of a classic car museum in Florida. This rock solid original Texas car had all of its original panels, and the original paint. An agreement was reached with the owner of the museum, and this car went through a complete restoration. The original 389 cubic inch engine that came with this car brand new has been thoroughly re-built to factory specifications, so the next owner can enjoy this car for many years to come. The tri-power set-up was available on the GTO model, and helps make this fresh 389 offer 360 horsepower. The steering was factory ordered with the 20 to 1 quick ratio. The power brakes have been completely re-done, and include a new master cylinder. This car stops great! The deluxe wood steering wheel allows this goat to steer with ease, and this car really drives straight as an arrow. The 4-speed transmission was also completely re-built, and the clutch assembly is new including a new pressure plate, throw-out bearing, and the flywheel was refurbished. Several other options include the factory rally gauge cluster, in-dash tachometer, tinted glass, custom front and rear seat belts, AM radio, and the 4-speed console. Really! If you've been saving up you're whole life for the right car, this is the one you want. All of the panels are in pristine condition, and lined up like this goat rolled out of the factory in 1966. The body is laser straight, and I can't see anyone not considering this paint work "Show Quality". The masterful paint work was done in the original Reef Turquoise. This sparkling interior was done in "Pearl White" Parchment. The white convertible top is brand new and works great. This GTO has its original Safe-T-Track rear axle 3.55 posi-traction rear-end. The tires are brand new steel belted radial Coker red-lines mounted on Rally I wheels with all four perfect center caps, and beauty trim rings. When you sit in this car it's truely like a throw back from 1966. This extremely rare and highly desirable GTO is fully documented by the Pontiac Historical Society. These GTO's have shown to consistently rise in value! The Nada Classic Car price guide has the 1966 Pontiac GTO tri-power convertible currently listed at $90,860 in high condition, $60,340 in average condition, and $26,040 in low condition. This incredible correct numbers matching example is in far better than average condition. The chances of seeing a GTO of this magnatude are very remote. This classic muscle car is simply a rolling work of art with outstanding investment potential. Everything on this entire car has been gone through. There are far too many parts to list, but like they say, a picture is worth a thousand words. What you see is exactly what you get! It took an exhorbitant amount of time, money, and effort to restore the magnificent car that is listed in this auction. I welcome any potential bidder to come out and see how spectacular this car really is. This Pontiac is available for inspection any time prior to the end of the auction. I try to list as much as I can think of when I write a description to allow everyone to make the most informed decision before they place any bids. Although, If there is anything that you feel I may have missed, please ask as many questions as you like. They will be answered to the best of my ability. You may also call Ian at 773/551-5075 anytime prior to 10pm central time. This is one of my personal cars, but I am selling it through my dealership. All applicable sales taxes may be required through your state at the time of sale. Upon completion of the sale I will look up what tax will be applied as per the state of purchase. All Illinois buyers must pay applicable taxes and licensing fees. In my eyes, this GTO is one of the finest muscle cars on the planet. This goat has it all from the original numbers matching 389, the tri-power set-up, the 4-speed transmission, to the nice new convertible top. It doesn't get any better than this! Good Luck and Happy Bidding! On Oct-23-12 at 04:46:32 PDT, seller added the following information: The car is color code K reef Turquois .On Oct-23-12 at 09:56:31 PDT, seller added the following information: I made a mistake on the vin# it should read 242676K133046.
