Vehicle Detail
Car has ORIGINAL MILEAGE LISTED. I bought this car for commuting purposes but ended up with my moms car - she can no longer drive... Anyway I started on this for the MPG. Re-did the entire interior except the carpet as it was in great shape. I removed everything short of the dash and silver lined bubbled the car to reduce exterior road sounds these earlier Honda's came stock with. Replaced the headliner material. Updated and way upgraded sun-visors with mirrors and lights. New -updated used seats. New carpet behind the seats or back hatch area. Got rid of the ridiculous center piece these wonderful cars came with and put in an actual center console with storage box, arm rests, cup holder etc... see pics.. Alpine cd deck with new speakers in front and custom in back. Sounds gr8!! Tint is perfect. ------------- Exterior. Both front fenders are brand new- had the notorious cracks these cars get. Very front plastic piece was in great condition - surprisingly. New paint but not the greatest paint job- did it myself and have done a ton of cars but had a couple of runs. The Bad: the lower plastic pieces (dressing) on the pass door has hairline crack that I repaired but they came back so that piece may need replaced down the road. Can't really see them, hairline must look up "closer". --------------- Mechanical Flushed radiator and changed the thermostat and antifreeze. New oil and filter. New plugs, cap and rotor. New KYB struts (shocks) all 4 nice ride... New brake pads and rotors in the front. There was a little bit of typical honda rust under the car like a couple inches 2x2 inch area up front both ground side floor boards. Removed and sealed up real good and added sheet metal- then rubberized the entire ground side of the car. Yea I have before and after pics- don't need to hide anything on this car. Tires are Micheline Harmony's with plenty of tread in great shape. ---------------------- Took the car for inspection and it failed . They say it's getting too much fuel and yes this is what's left to deal with. The best thing is get a rebuilt carburetor from National for $200.00 In the meanwhile the car seems to run perfectly fine. The carb stages properly and runs and idles fine. If you live in a state without inspection then you need do nothing.... I could not find any leaking vacuum lines. If I were going to keep it, I'd put a Weber on it and be done with the vacuum lines all together... I've put a couple hundred miles on the car and it drives very good!
