Up for auction is this 1976 Volkswagen Riviera camper conversion. Rare original full automatic transmission. 2.0 liter fuel injected engine. Runs and drives well and the electrical all appears to work as it should: lights, gauges, turn signals, wipers, etc. The drivetrain appears to be solid: Engine runs well, transmission shifts smooth, and the brakes function properly. Mostly original paint that has had some paint blends over the years and a couple of dings and scrapes but overall it is a solid body with what appears to be original sheet metal. Some usual minimal rust around the battery area of the rear corners but solid in all other areas: rockers, doglegs, lower nose/valance, windshield section, floors, rain gutter, etc. The interior is original and complete. There are some tears in the rear bed cushion that should an easy fix for the new owner. The pop top canvas/vinyl is in good condition. All glass is in good shape. Odometer shows just over 70k miles. I am unsure if it has turned over once or if it is original. Overall this is a great looking and fun to own vintage VW camper and is sure to bring it's new owners years of enjoyment.
