BUT HE WAS NOT HAPPY WITH THE POWER UOTPUT OF THE ALPINA TURBO SETUP, SO HE SWITCHED TO A CUSTOM DINAN TURBO SETUP WITH ALL SORTS OF COOL ADD-ONS. YOU WILL NOT BELIEVE HOW HARD THIS CAR PULLS, AND HOW MINT IT IS COSMETICALLY AND MECHANICALLY FOR A 26 YEAR OLD BMW. Here's the deal: -- This is a 1986 BMW 535ia Alpina B7 Turbo tribute car using a custom Dinan turbo setup) in black with the uber-cool oxblood leather interior and black carpets. This car has 105,xxx original miles, looks like a million bucks, and drives like a million bucks too! It has lots of authentic ALPINA gear including wheels, steering wheel, badging/decals, and more. -- -- But in the “Go” department, it has a custom Dinan turbo setup with in-car adjustable boost, fueling system, turbo-timer kit, and much much more. Set up for 13psi of boost, it has approximately 315HP at the crank. It FLIES once on the boost! -- -- Exterior 8.5 out of 10 (I'm finicky) – Great condition paint, body, glass, and trim for an original 1986 car. Only some door dings and a few scratches here and there, and some oxidation to window trim, keep it from being nearly perfect. This 535 looks amazing, with a deep shine to the glossy black pain that's like looking into a mirror. This car looks great even under fluorescent light in a garage. -- -- Never had any accidents, and wears all original body panels, paint (except driver’s door which looks acceptable) and bumpers. Even the lower side-body moldings are in nice shape. Chrome, rubber, glass, trim is all good, and anything not up to par I will replace prior to delivery, like some window weatherstripping. Hardly any oxidation, fade, wear, etc. NO RUST. -- -- Look at the body panels.....they are nice and straight. -- -- The authentic chromed Alpina wheels wear a set of good (over 50% tread remaining) staggered Avon M500 Sport tires – 205/55/ZR16 in front, and 225/50/ZR16 in back. The wheels are true with no bends. This Dinan turbo BMW 535ia drives straight as an arrow at any speed you choose. And I mean ANY speed! The chrome finish is pitting and peeling on the wheels, so I will refinish them in the correct anthracite and black paint prior to delivery at the BIN price. -- -- Interior 9 out of 10 - The interior overall including all seating and door leather, seat padding, dash, console, and carpets are in pretty amazing condition. No stains, carpet rips, very little wear to anything in the interior. Everything looks and feels near-new. Even the driver’s seat shows only very mild wear…NO tears or rips. -- -- The door panels and trim are also in great shape, like the rest of the car. -- -- Even the trunk is mint, the spare is original and was never on the ground, and the tools are complete. -- -- More of the amazing interior -- -- This Alpina tribute car is fully loaded including power windows, locks, sunroof, power seats, A/C, and much more. Here is the amazing part; EVERYTHING WORKS. -- -- Electrical 10 out of 10 - All lights, switches, radio, windows, sunroof, wipers, seat motors/memory, nav system, and power mirror work perfectly. Vacuum lock system, etc. all operating properly. The HVAC system is fast to respond, and perfect with hot heat and ice-cold A/C. -- --Mechanically 10 out of 10 - Engine starts, idles, runs, and revs to redline in every gear smooth and strong. Transmission is smooth yet very aggressive, and downshifts eagerly. This 535ia runs at high speed with no vibrations or noises. There are no leaks. -- -- The engine is where the action is. Turbocharged and intercooled with additional protection features for the additional boost, with the ability to control boost and air/fuel mixture in the car manually. This car is SO strong and VERY eager to run. This is a 300+ HP car, and it shows every time you hit the gas. With the boost knob set to lowest, you’ll get approximately 10psi of boost and a very very fast car. With the boost set to high, you’ll get approximately 15psi and simply blow the doors off of everyone, especially when the trans switch is set to sport mode and you are on the highway. It’s INSANE, as are the looks on people’s faces as this 26 year old BMW 535ia just walks away from their high-dollar sports cars at 100MPH. INSANE! -- -- The transmission (replaced in 2002 with a BRAND NEW CRATE TRANS FROM BMW GERMANY) is super-smooth and ready to drop down two gears at your command to rocket you past slower traffic. Sport/Economy/1-2-3 modes all work perfectly. Brakes are solid and pedal feel is firm. The custom suspension is tight like new, but absorbs bumps yet stays firmly planted just like a BMW is supposed to do. Steering nicely weighted with no play in the box. This car drives and handles like near-new. It’s amazingly tight over bumps, not loose and rattly like you’d expect for a car of this age. -- -- This car is chock-full of 1980’s state of the art technology. Manual boost control for the turbocharger, air/fuel monitoring, incredible complete old-school Nakamichi stereo system with Nakamichi head unit, speakers, subwoofers, and Dragon CD-changer. This system was an easy $5000 back in the day. A set of custom VDO gauges and a pre-LED air/fuel meter to keep tabs on the turbo motor. Even a hard-wired Escort radar detector that works perfectly! -- This BMW has its owners manuals, three keys, and I am currently working on getting her service history and other documentation. It is currently at a well-regarded BMW specialist getting a full inspection, and their instructions are to fix what they find. So far, only very minor problems like some cracked vacuum lines, needs an oil change, etc. With only 105K miles, she’s not even broken in yet! All you have to do is drive. -- -- BONUS: When someone selects the buy-it-now, I have some gorgeous ALPINA material from the 80’s, and a very very VERY rare set of Cibie CSR E-code quad headlights. Amzing light output with a genuine 80’s period-correct look. I will also refinish the ALPINA wheels that have the chrome flaking off. -- -- Also when someone selects the buy-it-now option, I will provide the following: a full $200 detailing including engine bay, carpet shampoo, leather conditioning, orbital polishing, etc, ToughGuard protectant to her paint that lasts almost forever, a synthetic oil change, a full tune-up, alignment, and more. That’s over $1500 included at the BIN price. -- -- Nits: The peeling to the chrome wheels (corrected at the BIN price), some oxidation to the window trim (corrected at the BIN price), and there are a few door dings and scratches.
