Vehicle Detail
Condition: This car was "mocked" up and made to run in the early 2000's with plans to tear it back down for paint work. Because the car was driveable that never happened, the car still has exposed welds that have been primered so it is in need of mud and paint. I drove the car yesterday (10/10/12) and it peels rubber... I haven't driven this car much in several years, once a quarter i will fire it up and drive it for several miles. If i were to keep this car i would take the body off to clean and paint everything. There are new floors installed, the only rust in the car can be found in the bottom of the cowl and doors, the holes are small and will be a quick patch. Features: Custom "t-type" chassis made of 2"x4", .120" wall tubing with a 12" z in the rear and a suicide perch up front. Model A axle and hairpins with early Ford hydraulic drum brakes. 327" Chevy engine with 3 Rochester carbs, Saginaw 4 speed trans. with early Halibrand Quick Change Rear End that is connected via 4 bar. The body has been channelled 4" over the frame and is chopped 5". All 4 pieces of glass are in place but both door glass is cracked. Leaf springs front and rear. History: This car came from western Arkansas where it was a farm vehicle prior to WWII. During WWII this Model A Sedan was converted to a pickup truck. This was a common practice as the Federal Government would provide a larger allowance of gas and rubber stamps for trucks. I found news papers from the 40's stuffed between the headliner bows and the welded in roof panel when i started this hot rod project in the year 2000.
