Vehicle Detail

1966 CHEVY - pick up truck - C10 long bed. Original Selling a 1966 Chevy C10 1/2 ton long bed pick up truck. I have owned this truck for over 20 years. The truck has been a southern California truck. Has black with yellow letters California license plates. For the last 15 years it has only been used 10 - 15 times. For things like trips to Home Depot, Move a refrigerator ETC. The truck has a V8 283 motor. With a Power Glide auto transmission. The motor starts right up and idles good. The truck has it's original single circuit hydraulic braking system. The trucks cab is good solid condition. All the body parts, door, hood, fender ETC are the trucks original. The truck in not rusted out . The cab's rain gutter is not rusted out. Like most of these old trucks. The p/u bed's wood boards, need replacing. The trucks bed is dented ( see photos ). there is a 2 inch tare in the bench seat. The front chrome bumper is original and in great condition. the color of the truck is the original orange and white. and has only been painted once. So it's not covered with many coats of paint. It's never been in accident. Other then the dents you see on the bed. All the trucks body panels are original. never had any body work done to it. And has it's original rear coil springs. So there a little soft. The tires Where bought about 13 years ago. All a the same time. mounted and balanced. the tires are LT truck tires. Not passenger tires. Have about one thousand miles on them. and are sill good. the spare tire holds air. And I think it has it's original tire jack. that is mounted under the bench seat. The truck has a wreathed vintage look, that some like. But would be a great candidate for restoration. The truck steering is tight and drives smoothly and quietly. I made a photo album with lots of photo of the 66 truck. the link it ...... photobucket.com/66chevyphotos ----- copy and paste ( photobucket.com/66chevyphotos ) in address window... If you wanted to make it a daily driver. the brakes would need work. After sitting unused for 5 years. The brakes master cylinder was short about 1 - 2 pints of fluid. After topping up the system and breeding the system. I could not find the leak. A nice thing this truck is that brake, steering, suspension and motor parts are cheap to buy over the internet. . So redoing brake system is not a big deal. Like it would be. With later model trucks... 1966 is the last year of this solid vintage body style. From then on. All of the 1970's and 1980's Chevy trucks looked plain and lacked character... This truck quires no smog testing in california state . And is easy to work on. The transmission was rebuilt. 10 years ago and has lee then 1 thousand miles on it ... For this truck to be a daily driver. The things I would do to it are. Replace two of the brake drums. New there about $35 ea. brake shoes about $40. brake spring kit for front and back $20. 4 Wheel cylinders $60. . Brake hoses . I replaced one about 10 years ago. to be safe I would replace the other 3. there around $15 each. I would change the engine oil. The truck need's a 12V battery, around $75. A 4X8 sheet of plywood to cover the missing boards in the truck's bed. The windshield wipes need new blades. After those things. I think you have a daily driver truck. The truck is located in Los Angeles CA 90230. Any shipping is to be arranged by the buyer. I can store the truck for a month in a fenced lot. to give time for the buyer to arrange shipping. If the buyer is local. the truck could be driven home. The buyer would need to get a battery. I have the trucks DMV tittle / pink slip. It's in the sellers name. I made a photo album with lots of photo of the 66 truck. the link it ...... photobucket.com/66chevyphotos -----
