This is a rare and classic Volvo. Less than 7,000 were ever made. This car was bought new by a man who was almost 60 in 1981. It was lightly driven and when the man stopped driving he sold it to his son, who has driven it rarely. It has been garaged for it's entire life. This vehicle is being donated to a charity whose work is to rescue horses. The vehicle starts and drives. Overall the vehicle is beautiful inside and out. It is not perfect however. It runs rough because it has been driven rarely. There are few minor dings on the vehicle but nothing requiring any body work, just a couple paint problems. There is a 3 inch tear in the driver's seat (mid left back). Overall the interior condition is good. We have the owner's manual and the showroom brochure that came with the car. Here is an excerpt. "...the product of Volvo's engineering and the skill of one of Europe's most distinguished coach builders: Bertone of Turin, Italy. Glove-soft Italian leather is hand-stitched over each seat; trims the door panels and covers the recessed sun visors. Elm veneer accents the door panels. Power windows, a central door-locking system, map lights, airconditioning, a power antenna, heated driver's and front passenger seats - are all standard." This vehicle has a style all it's own. It has a distinctive look and feel due to the limited number made. Also, Volvo tried something different with these coupes. The roof was lowered on all Bertone coupes by several inches and the window was splayed back. The seats were lowered to accommodate the lower roof. The feel when in the driver's seat is laid back, the view reminiscent of staring out a gangster's car due to the "gun-slit" windows.
