I absolutely fell in love with this car when I bought it. I had great plans, but unfortunately times change, and I need to sell this car and other items since my building is being leased Jan. 1. This 1950 Chevy was owned by one family until I acquired it. It has been sitting in storage for about the last 30 years. I bought it from the son of the original owner. His dad bought the car new in 1950. When it was pretty new, his dad ran into something and had to replace the from bumper with a 1949, since that was the only parts available in the local salvage yard. When the gentleman that I bought it from was driving it as a teenager, he was hit in the rear drivers side quarter panel. They replaced the panel and painted the entire car the original color. His father also rebuilt the engine about every 50k miles. It currently shows 56k, but he said it was 156K. He added a 12V battery location to help starting and a blade switch to flip once it started to put the system back to the 6V system. It is a 6V system in the car. I have not done a thing to this besides put it in my heated building a couple years ago when I bought it. This car spent most of it's life in southern Illinois and has only been in storage in Northern Illinois where the son lives that I bought it from. The condition of all the metal is incredible in my opinion, for the age of the car. My goal was to get it running and drive it just like it is, with the exception of possibly new seat covers. I have never tried to turn over the engine. I would expect it to be frozen. The car rolls fine, the brakes are free. Anyone interested in this car is free to contact me at 815-five zero nine-2059.
