Vehicle Detail

1976 Pontiac Trans Am 400 Numbers Matching PHS Docs *No Reserve* This is one nice little numbers matching Trans Am. We have the PHS docs for the car. The odometer shows 75,000, but we can’t verify if the miles are original. It was represented as original miles, but we don’t have any documentation to prove that. The car spent its entire life in Northern California, so it is really clean and rust-free. Originally Sterling Silver, the car was repainted Cameo White by the previous owner. The paint is decent quality and we would consider it “driver quality”. There are no signs of the previous silver paint. The trunk, floors, and sub frame are in amazing shape. They are quite possibly the cleanest, most original floors that we have seen. There are various chips and touch-ups in the paint from being driven. The previous owner also applied a new decal set. The correct shaker decal should be a “400”, but can be replaced easily if so desired. All new rubber was installed after paint. All of the glass and trim is in good condition. The engine is the original numbers matching 400 and has about 1000 miles on the standard rebuild. The partial VIN stamp matches the VIN plate and the title. It runs strong and is sealed tight. It has great oil pressure and runs cool. The previous owner also installed an Edelbrock Intake and Holley Carb after the rebuild. I have the original cast iron intake and correct Quadrajet that can be re-installed or go with the car. The original TH350 transmission performs flawlessly and is sealed tight. This car doesn’t leak a drop of anything and is totally dry underneath. Being a California car, the previous owner installed a full new exhaust system with high-flow cats. They can easily be removed if desired by the new owner. The car is a non-a/c car, but could easily be retrofitted with an aftermarket unit. The interior of the car is really nice and is the original Firethorn color. Many new interior pieces were installed including carpet, seat covers, and package tray. The door panels, headliner, console and visors are in great condition. The dash is overall in decent condition. At some point, someone tried to repair a crack in the dash, and it was an amateur repair at best. The original radio is installed along with the factory 8-track option. The radio is currently inop, but we don’t believe that it is wired to any power. The factory formula steering wheel is in decent condition. All gauges and lights work. Overall, the interior looks nice and original. The car rides on 15 inch Honeycomb wheels with new BF Goodrich 255/60/15 around. This TA has new brakes around and a new master cylinder. The power steering works great and the suspension is very tight. The car tracks and drives down the road perfectly. The original space saver spare along with the jack is in the trunk. Overall, this is a really nice and mostly original Trans Am. While it is not show quality, it can be driven and enjoyed. We would consider the car to be in above average condition. Everything on the car works, and we know of nothing that it needs. Just hop in and go. Reasonable Rides and Rods is located in Lewisville, Texas just minutes from DFW Airport in Dallas.
