1989 Dodge Dakota factory convertible. I believe this option for a convertible was only offered for two years, to the best of my knowledge these vehicles were sold somewhere around $22,000 new. I purchased this vehicle approximately 3 years ago. The previous owner stated that this vehicle underwent a three-year restoration. I was told that the engine and transmission were replaced from a lower mileage donor vehicle. The true mileage is unknown but the odometer reads 155,000 miles. This vehicle drives out 100%. Since my ownership I have replaced front brake calipers, rotors and pads. I believe my mechanic also did a complete rear brake job. I run synthetic oil and also have replaced the battery. I do not drive this vehicle in the winter. The body is in excellent solid condition with the exception of some rust( very small spot) in passenger-side cab corner. This is not a rust through. The interior is in excellent condition. I have installed new speakers within amp and CD player. I invested about $800 in the stereo system. The tires are in excellent condition. The braking is smooth with no vibration. I have also recently had the vehicle aligned. I would not hesitate to drive this vehicle cross-country its reliability and run ability is excellent. The previous owner was meticulous in restoring this vehicle. The previous owner claimed to have spent over $3000 painting this vehicle. To the best of my knowledge I do not believe that this vehicle has ever been seriously hit. These convertible trucks are extremely rare and will appreciate in value. It's a real head turner and exhilarating to drive.I will be putting a reasonable reserve on the price of this vehicle.
