Vehicle Detail

Very cool, 1979 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am with an automatic transmission and V8 - 403 Oldsmobile engine with 4 wheel disc brakes. Most items are stock except for general maintenance items like battery, spark plugs, wires, some hoses. The transmission was rebuilt by the 2nd owner and has a shift improver kit so it shifts firmly. The rear axle which was originally a 2.73 has been updated to a 3.42 also by the 2nd owner. I did not recieve the original gear set with the car. There is an aftermarket CD player and rear deck speakers. Interior, paint and body appear all original with a few tiny spots that may have been touched up ages ago or someone could have gotten happy with a buffer. To small to speak of but wanted to mention. The paint is a good 10 foot car and will not bear close detailed inspection. It is not a trailor queen but a nice weekend driver that you can hop in and go wherever you wish to cruise. No known mechanical issues. Starts and drives nicely. No smoke, no leaks, no strange sounds. Good power and shifts well. Stock type exhaust and orginal very cool snowflake 15 x 8 wheels with center caps and good Dunlop GT Qualifier tires. I don't think you can even get these tires any longer which is a real shame. AC is charged and cold. I do not have the spare and jack as they did not come with the car. I bought the car from the 2nd owner and kept a few years, sold it to a family member and now have owned for another couple of years. It has been garaged since I originally purchased the car to help preserve the paint and interior. The interior panels and headliner are in very good shape which is unusual for a car with this age and mileage. Generally the rear panels deteriorate and are all scratched and marked. I'm not aware of any rust on the car or rust repairs. I use the car for occasional Sunday drives and that is it. I would not be hesitant to take the car on a 1000 mile trip as is. It might use some gas though :-) I have added a build sheet photo and hopefully it is legible. I liked this car because it did not have the power windows and locks and t-tops. Also it has the chrome rain channel above the doors. Best feature ever if you drive it in rain or spray it off and drive away with the window down. Obviously this car has not spent time in the rain or snow when I have had it or the previous owners either. It is not one of the pieced together Trans Ams that you see so often on ebay but as said a great daily driver or a perfect platform to restore. There are imperfections in the paint and body and interior. Not going to point out each and every chip or issue. It's an old unrestored car. I'll point out what irks me the most. There are a couple of small dings in the hood that are noticeable at the right angle on the passenger side front, there is a paint chip near the drivers door handle, and the bird is just starting to peel mostly on the drivers side of the hood, the drivers seat lower cushion needs repair and the passenger seat belt fastener just broke two weeks ago. If you need more info, contact me through ebay, or come and see the car or send an inspector. I have the title in hand. Cash is best.
