2004 VW NEW BEETLE CONVERTABLE First off I will give you the bad news. It does have a problem shifting. It will work fine for about 10 min and then starts shifting very hard and sometimes just stay in one gear.That being said I think this would be a great car for someone with the know how to fix up or a great car for parts as a new top is $800 alone.It does run fine but the problem with the transmission causes the engine to run rough. If you clear the code it runs fine again until the code comes back. Both back windows dont go down. This windsheild has a crack in it and one headlight is missing its cover. The Leather seats are in good shape with no rips. The body is in very good shape, no dents, paint looks very good with just a couple scratches. All the door panels are good with just a couple scuff marks. A/C works great. This car as lots of good parts that would cost a fortune by themself so if you are looking for a great fixer upper or parts this is it. Please ask any and all questions and I will answer the best I can. You will need a trailer to get this car home. On Oct-05-12 at 11:17:46 PDT, seller added the following information: Here are some of the questions I have been asked. I Have had a few questions about the engine code. Its a random misfire code. Sometimes its on and sometimes its not. When the engine light comes on it will run rough at idle. Yes, I have had it to a tranny shop. They said it could be a valve body issue in the tranny. On the convertibles the window will go down about a inch when you open the door. On the driver side it does not always do that, its kinda random. The rear cig lighter drawer is broken and will not stay closed. The driver seat does have a few cracks in the leather. One rear tire needs to be replace. I didnt want to buy a new one since I am selling the car. Brakes and parking brake are good. Yes, oil and maintenance has been kept up.
