1942 Ford Military Jeep. This jeep was produced by Ford. Ford also had a contract to build jeeps for the military, to their specs. I have owned this jeep for over 30 years and have a clear title. Body is fairly solid with some rust underneath (look at pictures). Engine was replaced with a rebuilt Willis engine, same engine, only difference was the head which had Ford stamped on it. I have the orginial head to go with it that is stamped Ford. As this engine was made for leaded gas I pour a little oil in the gas for lubrication of valves, which makes it smoke a little. Engine burns no oil and runs with 60 pounds of oil pressure and 40 psi idling. Transmission is good no noise or growls. Front and rear drive are good. This Jeep is geared high and runs easily at 50-55 mph. These old jeeps are getting hard to find and are fun for the whole family. The electrical has long since been converted to 12 volt with GM alt. Cooling system good no leaks and no over heating. The windshield is Willis(note willis stamped on the front), windshield hinges out for air ventilation.
