Vehicle Detail
Hello All! First and foremost I'd like to say welcome and thank you for your interest in my father’s mostly restored 1966 Ford F-250 Custom Cab pick-up truck! I am selling this desirable classic truck for my father, whom due to age and health reasoning’s is no longer and unfortunately unable to drive this truck, as well as not being able to go on with his total restoration process as originally planned. As with all of my auctions, you are always more than welcome to email me at any time of the day, with all and any questions or inquiries you may have. I will always get back to you with an accurate, timely, and detailed answer. But if you would like your question(s) answered in a quicker fashion, I would kindly request you to call my father directly on his cell phone as he is the owner, and knows the truck in a much more comprehensive and accurate style than I. If for any reason you’re unable to call him directly; again, please feel free to email me with your full and entire question(s), I will be happy to call him for you, then promptly email you back ASAP with all your answers in detail! My father’s name is Armand Masters and his phone number is (804) 731-5732. Now for some details! This truck is a beauty and my dad has spent many years and many dollars restoring it. This is a 1966 Ford F-250 Custom Cab model in the beautiful "baby blue" with "powder white top" original color scheme. The truck has 107k original miles and has been maintained meticulously since my father has owned it. He is only the 2nd owner since the truck was bought new in 66; he purchased and has owned this truck since 1998, and has put 20k miles on it since then. In 2005 he had the whole body stripped to bare metal, to check for body damage as well as any other issues, and possible rust spots. He then had all new paint sprayed as well as new rubber moldings installed. When my father bought the truck from the original owner in 1998, he was told by the handling estate (seller/original owner/executor of will) that the engine was "new" (360 V-8). I honestly am not sure if that means replaced or re-built, though I know he could elaborate in much greater detail if contacted. The truck has a 4 speed transmission with granny gear, on the floor. This following section list some of the details and descriptions of parts my father has replaced with new, re-upholstered, or re-built on the truck, they are as follows but not limited to: Exterior (New) parts, pieces, etc. Installed, Replaced, and or Added: 1) New tires w/ white wheels 2) New clutch (along with new pressure plate and throughout bearings). 3) Class 4 trailer hitch added. 4) Step bumper has been installed. 5) New radiator. 6) New alternator. 7) New fuel pump. 8) The carburetor has been rebuilt. 9) The truck has had a complete tune-up including new distributor. 10) All new brake lines added as well as new Master Cylinder installed when he purchased the truck in 1998. 11) New bed liner was installed, probably closer to when he purchased the truck. 12) Tool box is included as pictured. 13) New railings were installed on each side of the 8’ bed. 14) Miscellaneous new chrome pieces, custom cab emblem, and new V-8 emblem on hood installed when body and paint work were done. Interior (New) parts, pieces, etc. Installed, Replaced, and or Added: 1) He re-upholstered the original seat in cloth and vinyl to match the truck’s original color scheme. 2) New headliner has been installed. 3) New re-upholstered door panels. 4) New sun visors installed. 5) An entire new Dash or dash pad has also been installed. 6) Both kick panels are new and installed. 7) New Sill Plates. 8) New rubber floor mats. The truck above all runs excellent with only 1 fixable issue. It is (and always has been) a great truck to us, no matter if it was work related or just cruising around town catching compliments! She is ready to be started and driven off into the sunset for either work or pleasure. The truck could be driven from VA to FL right now without a thing done to it, and nor my father or I would doubt it’s dependability for a moment! Some of the things my father had planned to replace and or re-building are as follows. All of you already know, as antique truck enthusiasts, that with a vehicle almost 47 years old, even with great care and complete restoration jobs there is usually always other things that can be done. I will do my best to describe in detail all of the flaws on this truck per my father’s description as well as put pictures of flaws in the photo section above. There is some light surface rust where the doors meet the body when closed, along some of the glass, and a small section on the top middle/bottom middle of the tail gate. This only occurred when we were getting a load of stone, and the loader missed the bed, hitting the back of the tailgate and causing a bunch of small pock marks in the paint (pictured)….dad tried to touch it up with paint. There is a small dent in the front middle of the bumper, a dent on the driver’s side rear bumper (along with 2 scuffs that have been touched up with paint due to somebody backing into it while in a parking lot). There are also a few other small dents in the rear bumper from years of use. There is a small scuff on the bottom of the tailgate, driver’s side. There is some very light rust (only on the inside) of the two built-in toolboxes (right behind each door). In the pictures you will see some charcoal briquettes that my father placed inside the two separate toolboxes in an attempt to soak up whatever moisture that may have gotten in. Both inside door handles are being held in by cotter pins and will eventually need to be fixed the right way; this is of course only a temporary fix for he had planned on correcting them the right way. Both doors open and close just fine as she sits. All of these things are shown in the pictures provided. Besides these few small flaws, there’s only one issue with the truck that can either be fixed or left alone the way it currently sits…..either way is fine as you can’t see it, nor does it affect the vehicle in any way. There is only one rust issue on this whole truck, and it is located on the front bottom of the 8’ bed nearest to the cab. This occurred before my dad purchased the truck. It set for 4 years under a tree after the original purchaser / owner passed away. The photos from the body shop show no rust, this is because when he went to the shop to take his photos on that day to properly document the process of stripping & paint, they did not point out the rust in the front of the bed because they had not found it yet. Unfortunately this was his main reason for going to the shop that day. He wanted to know if this classic truck had any rust, and if it did, where it was located and how much there was? The guys told him the truck was very solid with no rust during this visit. Obviously he was very happy and pleased to have found a classic such as this with no rust. Only to find out a few days later there was one part on the truck that did contain such, a partial section of the bed near the cab. Again, I can’t stress enough, of how much the rust cannot be seen unless the tool box and bed liner were to be removed. He has owned this truck for almost 15 years and has put many miles on her. The rust has absolutely no bearing on the performance or her rock solid dependability. He has hauled and carried plenty of heavy loads over the years. This truck runs and performs perfectly!! Back to the issue………he has looked into fixing this, but up to this time, he has been unable to do so for different reasons. Fortunately this issue is fixable. He did take the time to thoroughly research all the information that is needed to fix it, and then provided me with the details of the kit required; this is only if you’re interested in going that far with the restoration. The materials needed to fix the issue consist of a hardware kit and bed strips. On a lighter note, these “bed strips” can be purchased and placed directly over the area of rust without cutting or removing any of the existing bed away. If you wanted to go that extra mile and do a 100% show room quality restoration, you could have the rust removed completely. These strips will bolt and interlock together taking the place of the old and removed section of the bed, making a brand new bed, as if it was never there. Again this is only a suggested option, and is in NO way needed……..there isn’t enough rust to hinder the truck in any way, performance or dependability. The following is a list my father provided in case you do want to use this “bed strip” option. 1) You would need 14 (2.5 feet each) steel strips, pre-formed to factory bed (8 feet long). They can be purchased for a cost of $70.00 (cold steel strips) and they also offer stainless steel strips but they pricier at $170.2) A bolt kit consisting of zinc plated nuts and lock washers (63 bolts and 21 flat washers). This kit can be found in the Dennis Carpenter Restoration Book on page 107. Please note that holes will need to be drilled so the steel strips can be mounted and interlocked together. Besides that, she is as beautiful as pictured and runs excellent! He has most (greater side of all) of the receipts for work performed and parts replaced. He has invested between $13,000 to $14,000 of his own money in this mostly restored stand out truck. So I guess as they say, in this unfortunate case for him, his loss is your gain. The truck is located in Colonial Heights, VA. 23834; which is 20 miles South of Richmond, VA, right off Interstate 95. This truck auction is for local pickup only, unless a pre-arranged meet-up destination is agreed upon before the ending of this auction by either email or phone call (preferred). As stated in the beginning of this description, I have sold 2 other vehicles for him via eBay Motor Auctions in the last few years, with both auctions going smooth & flawlessly, with 2 separate very happy buyers. In both cases, the buyers bought a one way plane ticket and drove the vehicles home (we made planned arrangements, met them at the Richmond International Airport, and drove them to our home for pickup of vehicle). This is of course only a suggestion based on past vehicle selling experiences. My father is very understanding and willing to work with the winning bidder(s) / future owner(s)!! As always, thank you so very much for your valuable time, interest, and consideration of my auction!!! I always aim to please, as well as earn great positive feedback from you by offering nothing short of a detailed and honest 5 star buying experience. Please be so kind as to let me know if there are any questions or concerns before any undesired feedback is left. I have worked very hard, and always in a meticulous manner to maintain my 100% feedback rating. Thanks again all fellow eBayers!!The winning bidder will be required to place a minimum deposit of $1,000 through Paypal, or in person via cash / cashiers check from a local bank within 72 hours of the auctions ending. PS. I have plenty more pictures that I can email to you if requested. The reason I only posted 24 pictures is because this is the max allowed per auction, per eBay. Because I believe in full honesty, I have described this truck to you in FULL detail, good or bad. Most of the pictures are of either work in progress or flaws. I felt these were the most important pictures for you to see due to the auction style of this sale. I did have room left to post some pictures of what the overall truck looks like as well as the engine compartment. If you have any request(s) to see a part of the truck that I didn’t photo, just let me know and I will gladly get the photos to you! Also, I’m currently setting up my 4th vehicle auction for him (motorcycle) which will start after this one goes live. As for the other motorcycle auction, if you’re in the market for a beautiful HD touring bike, please stop by and check it out! Thanks again for your time as I know this description took a while to read. God Bless
