Vehicle Detail
1975 Volkswagen Bus- No Reserve! This is a very nice example of a no rust, southern California Bus. It was partially restored when I picked it up from a classic car auction in CA. Since then I have put countless hours and thousands of dollars into furthering the restoration. Although I have recently sunk a lot of time and money into this bus, it will need a few items to be at 100%, such as front dash lower panel, air vents, shifter knob, and horn button. The stereo is missing in the pictures but I do have a newer Pioneer CD head unit I was planning on installing in the bus that I will include in the sale. These finishing items are small compared to the new and improved items recently installed on this bus including a brand new rebuilt engine(Type 1 1600cc) with less than 100 miles on it, new starter, flywheel, air cleaner, and other misc engine components. It also has a brand new interior with wood flooring, black vinyl door and side panels, headliner, and rear seats. The front has grey cloth high-back bucket seats in very good condition. I kept the current paint scheme from the time I purchased it because you really can't pick a better color combo for a VW Bus. The "blue/green/teal/aqua" lower color looks great and has a slight metallic flake to it. The lower portion has a chip in the driver's door and some chipping starting in the rear driver's fender but overall I think it really looks amazing and easily as good as most 1 year old cars. The upper white portion is in excellent condition as well, with a few very minor signs of surface rust peaking through but definitely nothing substantial. All the electronics work perfectly on this bus including turn signals, headlights, running lights, brake lights, and windshield wipers. I've also just had a relay professionally installed at Wedge VW for the ignition so power doesn't have to travel all the way from the back of the bus to the front and all the way to the back again. This gives the bus stronger starts as the power can go direct to the starter and is a common recommended upgrade for the bus. The previous owner tried to add a little modern flair to the Bus by fitting a pair of 19" aluminum wheels with huge Toyo 235/35/ZR19 tires(which have about 80% tread) in the rear and a set of smaller 15" aluminum wheels up front with Kuhmo 215/65/15 tires. I personally think the look is awesome for this bus but could easily be reverted back to steel bus wheels if desired. Also, when I purchased the bus, the title and vehicle were conveyed to me as actual miles and the current title will be passed on as 49,777 original actual miles. I can't be sure that this is 100% true of course but it's never a bad thing to get a low/actual miles classic.Overall, this bus looks and runs great(of course with a new motor) and is sure to turn some heads. I typically get thumbs up and waved at whenever driving it. It will need a few finishing items to be 100% and like any 40 year old vehicle, its not perfect, but it sure is really, really cool!
