pmerie Store 1967 Jaguar XKE Coupe Series 1 VIN:1E21551 Right Hand drive Manual Transmission Odometer Reading 47,622 miles/ 76.640 Km. This beautiful car has been in storage since 1989..... the license tag sticker from that year was still in the glove compartment and is pictured below. At the time of storage the car ran and drove with no problems. While in storage, the engine was turned over regularly at first but other projects eventually took over and the car has´t been started for several years. During that time of dormancy, some valve issues occurred resulting in what appear to be several stuck valves. The engine spins freely but our compression test showed one cylinder at 175 psi, while others were showing zero. In my opinion, it would make sense to inspect the cylinders and possibly rebuild the engine..... costs of a reconditioned, led free spec. As you can see from the pictures, the interior and the leather seats is in a very nice , original condition for a vehicle of this vintage. The wooden steering wheel sits proudly in what some consider the “proper side” of the cockpit. All switches and gauges are present. The dash and facia are both very nice and original. The headliner is intact and not showing any staining or tears, but i would replace it. The spare tire is also included, along with the original jack and tool kit. Additionally, 1987 Florida License plates are included with the car, along with the English license plates ...... which the owner was told were original. This XKE was originally painted blue but was completely repainted burgundy, including the frame rails inside the engine compartment and the firewall. The paintwork was completed prior to the current owner acquiring the car in 1987 and it was likely done to a high standard. Any shortcuts or improper preparation of the car prior to being painted should be showing by now. The chrome bumpers are showing some spots of corrosion which are visible in the pictures. Please note that the photos of the vehicle is shot as the car was found..... making no attempt to hide any problematic areas. With the exception of the front floor pans and behind seats on both sides ( se drawing ) the body is showing very little rust. The major areas are photographed. The rust in the floor pan is located inside the cockpit an estimate for repair will be 2800 GBP.the frame appears to be unaffected. It is my full intention to present this Jaguar as accurately and as honestly as possible. I have inspected many cars over the years only to find 99% rust free examples to have plenty of problems in the areas that sellers without much knowledge of the marque don´t bother to inspect. This is an excellent candidate for a restoration and should serve its new owner very well. The E-Type is a landmark model which redefined what a sports car should be. Arguably one of the most beautiful and flowing of all sports car designs, the XKE appeals to enthusiasts of all generations. These S1 fixed head coupes are fairly rare, with 7,770 being produced from 1964-1967 and far less in existence today. Both coupes and roadsters been appreciating tremendously with coupes in fair condition commanding 20,000 GBP. I have set a very realistic reserve for a car in this condition and we have done our best to describe this vehicle as accurately as possible.
