Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is my Moms 1999 Toyota Celica GT Convertible. This is a relatively rare model, 1 owner car, and was always maintained in good condition. This is the last model year this body style was available, I can remember when we picked it up brand new, the new model Celica (which had no convertible option) had already started showing up at the dealerships. It’s toyota “super white” with a black interior. I have 24 pictures posted through ebay, but you can find more here- http://s208.photobucket.com/albums/bb164/jeffhenderson9/Toyota%20Celica/ The reason for sale was that my mother recently decided (at 64 years of age) that it was time for an automatic car. She just purchased a 2012 BMW 128 Convertible car. I toyed with the idea of keeping the Celica for myself, however I am already “a bit of a collector” and simply have too many cars. This car is a pretty nice ride! The Engine is a 5S-FE toyota 2200, and it was standard only in the GT model, and has a pretty good bit of pep. Unlike most small 4 cyl convertible cars (like the Mazda Miata or the Honda S2000) the Toyota 2200 in the Celica GT’s makes good low end torque, so it “feels fast” right off the line and with the 5 speed stick shift, and very nice handling it is truly a pleasure to drive anywhere. Check out the options sheet on the original window sticker (included), Basically everything except leather - My mom thought leather would have been too hot in a convertible car. Condition overall is good. It has a list of service records and maintenance history over the years. Recent items that were replaced were the clutch (about 10,000 miles ago), the top (about 12,000 miles ago) and 4 new tires (5000 miles ago) We just had the idle control valve ($280), the antenna mast ($60), and the rubber air intake boot ($100) fixed less than 100 miles ago. The car is still PA inspected till 13-3 - so if you are in state, just get a plate and drive, you are good to go. The car goes down the road very nicely, no shakes no shimmy, it honestly still drives just as well as it did brand new. Never any accidents (please see the auto check to verify this fact, as well as it's one owner status) Very likely this car has only seen about 1/3 of it's useful life- it's still young for a Toyota! The car is sold AS-IS, no warranty - after all, it is a 1999 model year car, however you do have that legendary Toyota reliability to back you up, and even if something was to go wrong, it’s still a Toyota, repairs should be reasonable. Everything functions as it should. Yes, runs, shifts, drives well. Air conditioning works GREAT on this car. I will note one occasional fault. The rear windows will sometimes fail to go down on the first try, and require several firm presses on the switches to get them to start going down. Likely the cause of this is either just the switch or a dirty contact. If I notice this continues to be a problem, I will have it repaired before the buyer picks the car up. The exterior is in good shape with with no rust or corrosion. The paint is mostly original with the only area I know of that has ever had damage being the right front fender. I remember around 2001 or so, my mom got a large dent in the right front fender from a bike. That fender only was replaced and repainted. All the rest of the paint is original. It does have several rock chips from normal highway use, as well as several small dings here and there. Some touch up paint, and a paintless dent removal service and the car would look brand new again. I will leave this to the buyer if they are concerned about these minor cosmetic imperfections. I did want to mention everything so there are no surprises. The worst part of the car (in my opinion) is the wheels. They are pretty weathered and there is some minor curb marks on all 4. They are the original wheels... They are not beyond refinishing, or again, if the cosmetics concern you you could just replace them. Take a close look at the pictures, - it’s a pretty nice car! I hope the 2nd owner enjoys it as much as we have over the years. Original window sticker $24,000 included! Enjoy the rest of the sunny days this summer with the top down, and enjoy the many years to come with this “soon to be classic”
