1984 Chevrolet C-10 Custom $25,000 Frame Off Restoration Custom paint by Dave Bell NO RESERVE AUCTION This is a true-one of a kind-show truck. It starts with its unique history. This truck was rust free and well kept to begin with before undergoing a complete frame off restoration 7 years ago. A brand new Edelbrock crate motor was installed along with a brand new 350 Turbo transmission, custom body work including shaved door handles, molded rear tail gate and whiskey window, custom wheels and Viper tires, suspension, front end, and Magnaflow exhaust. There is less than 2,000 miles on this frame off restoration and drivetrain! The truck runs excellent and the transmission shifts as it should. The front end is very tight and tracks down the road wonderfully. There aren't many of these older trucks you can just hop in and go. I wouldn't hesitate to drive this to California. It does not have AC. The heat works excellent, if you need it. High beams, low beams, turn signals, horn, power windows, CD player all work excellent. Again, this was a true frame off restoration and a pile of money was spent doing it, you can expect things to work as they should. What makes this truck so special and unlike and other C-10 to ever grace the pages of ebay, is the unique paint job done by a true legend: Dave Bell. Bell's cartoon: Henry HiRise would appear every month in the back of Street Rodder Magazine, for the better part of 40 years. He also penned the artwork for Street Rodders column heads over the years. His artwork is known to the hot rod community and abroad as it appeared everywhere from flyers, to posters, to T-shirts, and in hundreds of magazines. His artwork was first rate; it was humorous and entertaining but once you got past the initial chuckle you began to notice all of the subtitles that made his work standout. He was a hot rodder and sure knew what was going on-both in front and behind the scenes. SRM. Unfortunately for the hot rod community, Mr. Bell died May 5 in Falcon Heights, Minnesota at 72. This C-10 is truly special as it was graced by his own hand. Dave hand pin stripped the entire engine bay, the drive shaft of the undercarriage and did one of his famous caricatures on the glove box on the interior of the truck and signed it. "All of us know that it's oftentimes when you no longer have something that you finally fully appreciate what you have lost. I always appreciated Dave's efforts but I am afraid I am going to really feel the loss after a few issues of SR go by. I will miss a good friend. There's no one who can replace Dave nor would we want to. A glorious lifetime with a noteworthy career is now over- for the kid from southern Minnesota its the end of an era." - Street Rodder Magazine I started this listing off noting that this, "...is a true-one of a kind-show truck". It is really so much more than that, it is irreplaceable artwork that any true hot rod enthusiast would love to own and show off. Don't miss out on this rare opportunity to own a piece of hot rod history. Check out the pictures and the clean AutoCheck History Report. Do not hesitate to ask any and all questions, I'm an honest seller and have always described my items with accuracy. Please come look at the truck and take for a test drive. You will not find a more unique truck with this type of rare history! On Sep-23-12 at 08:46:33 PDT, seller added the following information: The wheels and tires on this truck were $2,000 alone. They are basically brand new as well.
