youtube video: 1972 pontiac grand prix sj for sale in boise http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yPRzfTrBbms&feature=channel&list=UL I bought this car in June, hoping my wife would like it. She does, but wants a 4 door. I bought it because it was RED AND BLACK...not green, brown, beige etc. It has working cold A/C and a lady owned it for 37 years....not her husband. I have the purchase invoice from 1972...Colvin Pontiac in Denver. She traded a 1967 RED Impala 2 door hard top in on this car. Her name is Mary Nierling. My wife drove the car off and on for a couple weeks, and we never licenesed it. Its been parked inside since mid July and not driven until today...started up and drove perfect. It runs very strong and smooth. The engine has been rebuilt and so many things replaced with receipts to show all of them. Some are : complete dual exhaust from manifolds to tail pipes, axles, bearings, bushings, ball joints, complete brake assembly, timing set, water pump, all kinds of misc. recent receipts, new HEI distributor, tires, trim rings, pmd center caps, brakes, suspension, A/C power brake booster, steering box, radiator, KYB shocks, new hoses, new belts, carb, new gas tank and lines. I have all the receipts from 1972 until now...maintainance, parts, etc. Its a 12 bolts posi car..factory SJ 455 12 bolt. I have the PHS documents showing options etc. It stops, starts and drives like a new 72 GP is supposed to. Quiet, smooth, powerful, etc. No rattles, no ...what is that noise problems. I also liked that this car was ordered with cloth inserts from the factory...not all vinyl... hard to find. I think this is a classy looking car. Graceful. It has the right colors, and is a real SJ, not a fake. It is not perfect by any means. Its a super nice driver. It has a small tear (3-4 inches..you have to look for it)in the headliner in the back, a small tear in the drivers seat (2 inches), and old man black tape on the drivers door panel.....sad. It has a bad front right fender, dented in at the bottom and... lame repair job and a small dent under the trunk key lock. It has rust around the vinyl top and top trim. The paint has scratches in in it. The grill and bumpers are very nice, the glass is all nice. The engine compartment is not a greasy mess, very clean. Front end is tight, bushings are good/replaced,,not old and falling apart. Trunk is in amazing condition, not a rear beasty rust bucket....odd really. The car is worth what I am asking, I paid much more, and then had it shipped. I am not at work where the phs is...but have it receipts etc. This is a fly in and drive home kind of car without any question. The lights all work inside and out, the AC heater, radio, (wipers..I assume)... all work fine. I I think its 143K but put 144 to be safe. If you could review all my auctions, you would see that I SELL all my cars, on the first auction. I dont overprice them, and keep relisting them week after week...thats annoying. People like to get a deal, I am the guy that gets ready to sell something...and I sell it..dont just put it up "for sale".... I lower the price if I have to ....when I get the need for instant gratification... I usually get emails from bidders saying "what happened"...and "if it doesnt go through...contact me"..... SO IF YOU ARE SERIOUS... BID OR BUY IT...IT WILL SELL! PLEASE>>>> PLEASE dont bid on this car unless you have the spare cash sitting around and really want it. I want to sell it, not mess around or play games. I am in the car far more than I am asking...lucky for whoever buys it, Im not greedy when it comes to selling cars. It would cost 4000 to do the 455 if I had to guess with labor and throw in the new tires and exhaust and brake job and you are at the asking price.... I have to put the car in my name, which I will do by Tuesday and order a rush title. I will have the clear title in my name within 2 weeks of today...likely about 10 days. While loading/saving the photos i took, I found this description of the car titles 72 pontiac sj....thought I would post it.I bought this car from a woman that owned it for 39 years. This was her pride and joy. She loved the car. She sold it because she wanted some one to in joy it as much as she did. I bought the car from her intending to fully restore it. I have put $6000 in repairs in this classic and that is not including what I paid for the car. I had it ship here from Denver to Branson MO. That was another &600 not included in the price I am selling it for. This is a 1972 Pontiac Grand Prix SJ-455. The miles show 43000 but I think it is 143000. She said she had the motor rebuilt about 5 years a go. The engine and transmission run strong. Here are some of the new items I have put on it since I have owned it. New Water Pump,Alternator Starter,Distributor, Shocks front and back, Complete new brakes front and back, U-Joints,New Edelbrock 650 cfm carburator New exhaust system front to back, new BF Goodrich radial ta tires, new front suspension parts, new fuel tank, new drive axles, Air condition changed over, New blower motor,New Power brake booster and master cylinder, New wheel trim rings, and all the complete maintenance, oil change, transmission filter and fluid, and the list goes on. There is body work to be done around the vinyl top where they all start to bubble. and left fender needs repair, there is some filler in the quarter panels other than that this car is solid. Frame is solid. The shop I had the work done with says this is a very solid car. Sorry to see it go but other things got to be taken care of. Sold as Is. You Pontiac guys give her a good home. She has got a lot of life left in her. On Jun-01-12 at 07:58:54 PDT, seller added the following information: The Engine and Transmission are Numbers Matching. All so comes with all the original manuals that came with the car when it was new. All so have the paper work from where the car was bought in 1972. All so have a original 1972 shop manual that goes with it. On Jun-01-12 at 20:02:27 PDT, seller added the following information: I have this car listed other places so if it sells before auction is over I have the right to stop auction. Buyer must have the car picked up with in 5 working days. Just wanted to let you know in case it sells before auction is over. If you need more time to have it picked you must let me know. Just to let you know I am selling this car for a lot less than I have in it. So if you are really interested in this car and it gets to where I need to be at it I well close the auction earlier than the 6 days that are left and sell it to that buyer that hits the price I need. Thanks, and happy bidding. On Jun-01-12 at 20:15:01 PDT, seller added the following information: Buyer Is responsible for shipping. On Jun-02-12 at 08:51:18 PDT, seller added the following information: I forgot to mention that the rear end is a 12 bolt posi-traction rear end just to let you know. On Jun-05-12 at 11:22:16 PDT, seller added the following information: Wont let me ad any more pictures. On Sep-17-12 at 19:35:18 PDT, seller added the following information: Well, I am not surprised reserve was met... my stuff usually sells with the buy it now, but set the reserve price at the original purchase price on the original sales invoice...just for fun.... The car can stay here in my garage for a month or so if the buyer needs time to have it picked up or fly in etc. I looked for a long time before I bought this car... it was the right color, the perfect interior option, and equally important.... the right story/history....and of course... an SJ . On Sep-18-12 at 15:22:46 PDT, seller added the following information: Titled the car into my name today. 9-18-12
