This /2 BMW has been converted with an R90/6 engine, which makes it a strong sidecar rig. It starts and runs well, everything works properly, although I have only driven it about 50 miles. The bike chassis is in good condition, with sport tank and all sheet metal straight. In my opinion the color was not the best choice, but that can be changed. The bike has a Luftmiester fairing, and the controls, speedometer and tachometer are from the donor R90 . The sidecar is in good condition, with very good upholstery. The sidecar also has an working trunk ; the lid with the spare tire opens for access. Tires are good; the bike has sidecar tires, with a flat profile. The attraction of the engine conversion is that you create a bike with a vintage look, but with enough power to pull the sidecar at the speeds of modern traffic. If you want a sidecar rig, or a conversion, the buy it now price is a cheaper way to get this than trying to put this all together. Because this bike is about 90% intact, except for the engine and transmission, it has occurred to me to convert back to a stock /2. I have a short block with all internals that I would include in this sale- you would need the top end, a transmission, controls and headlight to switch back. I am planning to sell off most of my spare parts this Fall and Winter, and I have some of these things. Given the rising value of the older BMW's, this seems to me lie a viable option. I am selling with a low reserve. I require a deposit via paypal within 48 hrs, and prefer pickup in person with cash. Failing that, a check is acceptable, once cleared. I will help with shipping to the extent of delivering the bike to a commercial location.
