Please see all the pictures (over 100) and videos I have taken of this car at the two links below. You may have to copy and paste these links to your browser if you cannot just click on the links. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WwJHRcRRD_g http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xblk06b4qu0&feature=youtu.be http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vNEuGWBLRuQ&feature=youtu.be http://s98.photobucket.com/albums/l245/colangp/1976%20Ford%20Elite/#!cpZZ1QQtppZZ28 This amazing “survivor”, all original, numbers matching, 1976 Ford Elite with less than 38,000 original miles on it has had a total of 3 owners in its 36 year pampered life. I am the third owner. The previous owner was a collector and put 2500 miles on the car in the 11 years he owned it. The original owner, from what I was told, was elderly and when it had around 35000 miles on it back in 2001, it was stored and driven occasionally as he became too old to drive. Let me give you a bit of history on the Ford Elite. This car was made from 1974 to 1976 only. In 1974, it started out as a sub-model for the Gran Torino called the Gran Torino Elite. In 1975, Ford dropped the Gran Torino name and created a separate model called the Elite for 1975 and 1976. It was created to compete in the mid-size personal luxury car segment. Because this vehicle did sold so well and cannibalized the sales of the Thunderbird and Torino nameplates, Ford discontinued this model. Now, on to the description of this gorgeous vehicle. This Ford Elite was never smoked in, was sparingly driven (as I said, it currently has less than 38,000 original miles), by all of its owners, lovingly cared for and always garaged since new. Not only does it look new, it drives like new! The original owner’s manual is still in the glove box. Included with the car is the original jack, jack instructions and spare tire which look to have never been used. I have some of the receipts from the original owner validating the mileage and a list of items done to the car from the person I bought if from in the 11 years he owned it. This 1976 Ford Elite is now being made available to some very lucky bidder. The only reason I’m selling it is because I have my eye on another classic car I found. If it doesn’t sell, I’m perfectly OK with hanging on to it. I love all kinds of classic cars. I am open to doing an even trade for another classic car of similar quality and value so let me know what you have! This Elite was never hit and everything is in excellent factory original condition. All the lights, turn signals, horn, gauges (except the gas gauge – needs a sending unit), wipers and radio are in perfect working order. Remember that annoying door buzzer when you inserted the key? Even THAT works perfectly! No electrical issues at all. The paint (which is 100% factory original, chrome bumpers (virtually showroom new original condition) chrome trim around the wheel wells, stainless trim and rubber trim are all in very good to excellent condition. This car handles beautifully and holds the road nice and straight at 40 MPH or 70 MPH. No pulling at all and is very tight and responsive. The car tracks straight. The brakes work beautifully with no issues at all. This Ford Elite rides on a new set of white wall all season radial tires mounted on the original factory wheels and original wire wheel covers to maintain it’s original factory look. The exterior is incredible! The ALL original black color still shines like new! It honestly looks a 3 year old car. It has a few tiny (and I mean TINY) nicks here an there but from 5 feet away, they are hardly noticeable. The floors, frame and trunk areas as well as under the hood and trunk are all solid and rust free with no signs or rot anywhere. Same for all the door jams and under the doors (see pictures). NO RUST!! There is just some light surface rust underneath, nothing at all to worry about. The trunk compartment is in near perfect condition with its original trunk mat in tact and ZERO RUST. All the glass is virtually perfect. No chips or cracks anywhere, just a light scratch on the windshield from the wiper blade on the passenger side. The gold vinyl top is in as new condition and is original to the car. No rips, tears or fading anywhere, which is even more proof this car was garaged its whole life. All the doors open and close effortlessly, just as new and all the door jams look new as well. NO RUST anywhere here. But that’s just the beginning! The stunning interior is absolutely breathtaking and 100% original! Nothing has been modified or “cut up” in any way. It looks exactly as it did back in 1976 and looks brand new. The upholstery, door panels, seat backs, carpet, headliner (no sagging, fading or rips), dash pad (no cracks or fading), rear package tray (no cracks or fading), chrome and stainless trim pieces are in excellent to near new condition. This interior is, for all intensive purposes, in brand new original condition. This Ford Elite is equipped with the original AM/FM stereo with front and rear speakers (which works perfectly), power steering, power brakes, electric clock (which actually works but intermittently, cigar lighter (works great). The A/C blows cold with no issues. The heat works great with no issues. This Elite has the original 460 CU (7.5L) V8 engine hooked to its original C6 3 speed transmission. The 460 was very rare for this car in 1976 and only 3204 Ford Elites in 1976 came with the 460 CU V8 power plant. Both perform as new. Absolutely no knocking, smoking or hesitation from the engine and the transmission shifts through the gears like a new car. No leaks anywhere and no burning of any oil. It’s very smooth with no problems at all. There are absolutely no issues with overheating. I recently brought this car to the Woodward Dream Cruise and “cruised” in 2 hours straight of bumper to bumper traffic just idling in 80 degree heat and the car didn’t miss a beat. No overheating and stayed in the “normal” temperature range the whole time. This 1976 Ford Elite was ordered with the following equipment. 460 CU V8 W/4 BBL CARB (RATED AT APPROX 202 HP) RARE!!! AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION AIR CONDITIONING POWER STEERING POWER BRAKES RALLY GAUGE PACKAGE REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER CRUISE CONTROL (not working) FACTORY DUAL EXHAUST AM/FM STEREO WITH FIXED MAST ANTENNA DUAL OUTSIDE ADJUSTABLE CHROME MIRRORS SPLIT BENCH SEAT ELECTRIC CLOCK DELUXE CLOTH AND VINYL UPHOLSTERY I included a signed document within the “Photobucket” link above of the work done by the previous owner during the 11 years he owned the car. Since he was a collector, he didn’t have receipts as he had his crew do all the maintenance on his vehicles. Keep in mind; even though the work done was within the last 11 years, there are only about 2800 miles worth of wear on these things. I haven’t had to fix one mechanical item on this vehicle. It needs absolutely NOTHING mechanical fixed. DON’T MISS THIS OPPORTUNITY TO ACQUIRE THIS AMAZING 1976 FORD ELITE, WHICH WILL GIVE YOU YEARS OF DRIVING ENJOYMENT AND PRIDE OF OWNERSHIP! READY FOR SHOW OR GO! NO DISAPPOINTMENTS! BID WITH CONFIDENCE! BID TO WIN! This 1976 Ford Elite has been lovingly cared for since new. This is a vehicle that anyone would be proud of and this Elite is wonderful to drive. It turns heads everywhere it goes and has won many trophies at our local car shows and gets thumbs up and comments literally everywhere I go. I see no reason why the winning bidder couldn’t fly in and drive this vehicle home to anywhere in the country. As everybody knows, nothing is perfect. The clock currently works but intermittently. I think it just needs some cleaning because it works when you turn the knob that changes the time when the car is running but then stops. The gas gauge isn’t working. It needs a new sending unit. The paint has a couple of small chips as I mentioned earlier (see pictures) here and there but are hardly noticeable, unless you get right up on the car. There is one small ding on the front quarter panel which you really have to look for as well as a few tiny dings on the trunk lid by the lock. Again, it’s hardly noticeable. There is a little bit of paint chipping along the bottom edge of the vinyl top on each side (see pics). Again, not very noticeable. Terms of Sale: BIDS ARE BINDING.
