Vehicle Detail
1998 CR 500 Engine New Case Cylinder Punched out to 520 cc - Work done by Eric Gore Cylinder ported for broader power band and has been nikasil plated Procircuit Pipe selected for current power band - Dented and Cracked, needs to be replaced V-Force II Reed Valves High Energy Coil Custom Build Power Now Valve, built into carburator with steel plate thicker than commercial power now valve inserts Excel Rims with Red Hubs and spoke tips/nuts Bumpsticks Suspension - Handles above average and resist bottoming real good. Red handle bars - bent and need to be replaced Tires - 70% Throttle Tube has progressive cam - can switch to stock profile or faster than stock Hydrolic Clutch New clutch basket and clutch, upgraded better than stock, can't remember brands This bike is a lot of fun. It vibrates a lot until it warms up. After it warms up the vibration is not too bad, unless you have been spoiled by a 4 stroke. At 520 cc, ported, jetted, procircuit pipe, V-Force II reeds, hotter coil and custom power now valve, this thing will really move. A built 450 is nothing to worry about, as long as you can ride a big bore two stroke in the corners. The bike is not really scarry, most of the time if you hit the gas too hard down low it will just spin. But you need to pay attention if you pin it once you are moving and have traction, that is when you need to be leaning over the handle bars or it will stand fairly quickly. I have had a great time learning to ride, progressing and finally clearing the big table tops on this bike. I believe it is funner and easier to ride than a 250 two stroke. With the progressive throttle, you always have the low end torque of the 500 cc without the accidental twitch of the wrist leading to unexpected 500 cc horsepower. So you can better control when you want all of that power. Racers may want to put the stock throttle cam back in. I originally got this bike to keep up with my kids in the woods or at local tracks. 22 months ago my son fell from his bike at buds creek and another rider ran over his head. His name is Hunter Pitts. Hunter is still recovering and just now starting to use sentences. My other son, Stephen just broke both of his arms riding his bike. Through all of the emegency room and rehab facility time, time off of work, God has been with my family in a mighty way. God has provided for our financial, material and emotional needs through our family, church, friends, strangers and even the state of Virginia. God is good! Riding this bike is the funnest thing I have ever done, including flying helicopters in the Army. I hope the new owner has as good of a time on it as I had. Please show the ole girl some respect, she is a 4 stroke eater! I am selling this bike, because it represents the closest thing I own to representing a spottless sheep as an acceptable and pleasing sacrafice to God, as a thanksgiving for the care He has given our family and my plee for the complete healing of my two sons. The money will be given to Round Hill Baptist Church. Call and we can work out the shipping details. Thanks for you consideration, Al 540-226-8000
