Vehicle Detail
This 1992 Toyota Tercel 4-speed has 158,330 miles and a Kenmore cd player/radio/USB/ipod stereo and four Pioneer speakers (valued at $280). One thousand miles ago, I replaced the radiator and hoses, water pump, thermostat, alternator belt, timing belt, oxygen sensor, distributor cap, NGK spark plug wires and spark plugs, front brakes, front tires, and exhaust centerpipe. New alternator and back tires 8K miles ago. New CV axles, timing cover gasket, fuel filler neck, master and slave cylinders, transmission fluid, and left lower control arm 20K miles ago. Transmission is great, no grinding or slipping. Fiberglass undercoating has significantly protected the undercarriage from rust (seen in last picture). Headliner is clean and intact, glass is intact and scratch-free, except for two 1/2-inch chips and one 1/4" chip in the windshield on passenger's side. Over the past three years I've owned this car, it's achieved 35 mpg in town and 40 on the highway. (I kept track of fuel economy on paper and, for while, at www.fuelly.com/driver/verminchild/tercel) No cigarettes smoked in car, no smells (my allergies cannot permit it). One of the best things about this car is parts are very affordable (13" tires are $40!). At the same size as a Mini Cooper, it'll park in tiny spaces and can do a u-turn on side streets. Cons: There are dents in both doors and some rust at wheel wells, front seats are torn up but hidden with seat covers (driver seat has a 4" memory foam pad). I removed the rear window brake light because it kept shorting out, and it is included in the sale (the car has passed inspection with it removed). Back seats have several tears, right headlight is cracked but functional, dashboard is somewhat faded, rear right windowsill is scratched. Driver's side floor pan has hole where expansion plug fell out. The engine starts and runs fine, but a few hundred miles ago, compression dropped in the second cylinder. The fuel economy fell to 30 mpg and power dropped; it will need new piston rings to run well again. The heater works, but no A/C. Driver's seat belt is frayed, trunk liner is removed but the red paint looks good. Clear title and current inspection. Been a daily driver for years and cared for very well. Includes owner's manual, three keys, and all receipts from maintenance.
