Vehicle Detail

Super Sweet 1979 Scout II Rallye package. 345 engine. 95% original. A few of the features that make this Scout special are: factory roll bar, original pillowtop black leather seats (although the driver seat is in rough shape). Center console. Headliner is in impeccable shape with functioning dome light. The removable top has never been removed. Original Rallye wheels with 32" tires with 85-90% tread. Selectro hubs (make it easy to turn with gloves). Straightest original body I've seen on a scout! Runs fantastic! Just replaced the belts, hoses, fuel filter, flushed radiator. I've used only mobil 1 in it. Sliding rear quarter windows, tilt steering wheel, auto trans, luggage rack, working A/C, 345 engine, 727 Torqueflight Auto trans, daily driver, a/c blows cold, heater blows hot! Would make great collecter or hunting rig or both!! Extra parts included: original air intake, original front drive shaft with u-joints, original mirrors, larger scout steering wheel. Please let me know if you have any further questions or need more pictures. I tried to include close-ups of typical scout trouble spots to show how EXCEPTIONAL this vehicle is. Since it looks like the Q&A app isn't working for me, so here are a few of the questions I've received about the Scout. Hopefully it will help anyone else with similar questions: Q: Would you buy it and drive it to Alaska? I live here and if its road worthy enough for 3 full days drive I'm interestedA: Most certainly. No guarantees of course, it's a 33 yr old vehicle. However, I would not blink at all at making that trip in it. I have had no issues at all with it. I wish I could drive it up myself, still wanting to get up there and hunt.Q: Hello,I like your Scout. Does that have tilt steering? Does the roll bar sit on the wheel wells or just past the wheel wells? ThanksA:Thank you, it's a wonderful Scout. Yes, it does have tilt steering. The roll bar sits just past the wheel wells. Let me know if you have any other questions. On Sep-12-12 at 23:42:10 PDT, seller added the following information: Q: Is there any rust?A:The roof has some rust in the gutters - what Scout doesn't (poor design)? There is one small rust hole, about the size of a quarter, in the rear drivers side of the roof where, I assume, it had been parked under a drip source. There may be a very tiny bit of surface rust above one wheel in the rear quarter panel. Other than that, I don't know of any. Please contact me if you are interested in further pictures. Q: The seats look great, what condition are they in?A: The drivers seat has foam showing and is pretty torn up on the front, the back is perfect. The passenger seat has a couple of smaller tears on the lower part of the seat. I have had covers on both seats since purchasing the vehicle. The rear seat is in excellent shape. It is missing two buttons, but looks brand new besides that. On Sep-15-12 at 21:02:37 PDT, seller added the following information: Q: Are the front springs reverse shackled? A: Yes, it was done professionally in Texas. It also has about 4" of overall lift.
