Vehicle Detail

Here is one dandy little car! I drive this car on a weekly basis so she is no trailer queen but sharp none the less. Here is her story as I know it to be. I bought her from a Studebaker guy in Minnesota about four years ago. I know what your thinking, a rust bucket, BUT NO. The frame is in amazing condition as is the original floor boards and rocker panels. THIS CAR IS SOLID! The fenders had some rust thru and the interior was a mess but she ran good. In fact I drove her home to Georgia some 945 miles. The original 283 V8 hummed along just fine. So here is what I've got her to now. Interior and body: I replaced the two front fenders with NOS ones. Had the car carefully prepped and repainted tahaitian turquoise (a studebaker color offered at the time) The original color was rust red. replaced vinyl top and headliner new carpet and replaced front seats with reclining seats I found on ebay. Back seat is original and has a small tear. Replaced some side chrome and missing badges as needed. The headliner began sagging and guy who did job went out of business so I have put a tempory bow in. I replaced most of the door rubber but windlace (in the trunk with a box full of parts) is still to be installed. The door panels are original and are in need of work/replacement. Mechanical: Engine runs well. I installed electronic points. Auto tranny has been replaced (pre-me) with a GM turbo 350 which has a low gear start unlike original. I had transmission rebuilt and it works well but indicator in steering column does not lineup and shift linkage is sloppy. Rear end is 3:07. All instruments work. I replaced speedometer and added a tach . Heater, horn, radio, lights (except backup) all work. A/C is all there but will not hold freon (I've never had it checked out). The original broken speedometer was replaced with a nos unit (thus the miles) actual miles unknown. She has new shocks all around with new front springs. New exhaust system. Tires are 5 years old and in good condition. Power steering works well. Brakes work well but due for a safety check. Rims are original and need replacing. The rear springs need new bushings. That's about all I can think of. I will be glad to answer any questions and the car is available for you to check out in person. It's been a fun project and so few of these are left but I'm retiring to a condo in Florida and can't take her with me. Clear title, manuals, and a trunk full of parts go with her. Help me find her a good home! I have put a low reserve. Good luck bidding!
