Vehicle Detail
Here we have a 1967 IH Scout Sportop Truck up for auction. This is a rare Scout not often seen, it looks nice , but it is a project truck and will need some work to be put on the road. I had planned on doing it myself, I dont see it happening soon, so its for sale. The Scout is a 4 cylinder, with a 4 SPEED TRANS., the axles are 4.27 ratio, both have limited slip tags on the axles,so I think its front and rear POSI axles. The drivers rear axle wheel bearing is bad, and will need work, an extra DANA 44 axle from a Scout 800, can go with, but is a 3.73 ratio. The engine does run, but the drivers fuel tank is out, and I never drove it, it does not have working brakes. AN EXTRA 4 CYL. engine comes with if buyer wants it. Frame and under carriage looks solid, frame has surface rust only. The body and paint look decent, but the body does have rust. The bolt on panels look excellent-hood,doors,fenders and tailgate. The body tub has rust ,primary areas are -the drivers door lower hinge area, floors, the bottom forward areas of the quarter panels-right behind the doors. Also, the metal on top of the quarters for the convertible top shows rust. It looks like the original color was a Teal color. The interior vinyl is in good shape, as is the plastic Sportop only trim pieces, the vinyl red and white is in good shape, but far from the original GREY color. The vinyl top looks good, but it is ripped, about 9" long, on the Passenger side over the rear quarter, may be repairable. The vinyl rear window is faded thats its not clear to see through. The emblems in the vehicle are loose, and will need new barrel clips to attach securely. The visors are poor, but a good set will go with. The starting switch is hanging from the dash, not sure why, but it is. There is a regular spare wheel and tire under the cover, no Sportop cap was with it. Chrome bumpers have some pitting. The tires are about 65% tread, if buyer doesnt want, or need them,( the chrome wheels and tires) I can deduct $250.00 off the sale price, and put roll able wheels and tires on it. Overall this is a nice RARE Scout, with a lot of potential, but it is going to take some work. Scout has a clean PA. title. Scout to be picked up within two weeks of purchase. Payment in cash, or paypal, prior to title transfer and vehicle pickup. Vehicle is for sale AS-IS, WHERE-IS, delivery may be available for a fee , depending on the distance, contact seller if interested. Thanks for Looking.
