Vehicle Detail
RARE Dakar yellow 2000 M Roadster with only 89K miles! I bought this from the lady who was the second owner and had it since 7,000 miles! The car has a new clutch, new Michelin Pilot tires, new cooling system, and new speakers(sounds amazing!). It also features the factory BMW trunk rack with matching and locking BMW suitcase. The interior of the hard case has a matching leather case and the plugs if you want to remove the rack. It look like it's barely been used. It also has the optional BMW Roll bar wind screen, which is removable. The 2000 model had quite a few upgrades over the previous year including double insulated soft top(much quieter and cooler), clear corner lenses, upgraded BMW Business CD in dash with better sound system, stronger rear differential mounts, etc. The car runs excellent with ice cold AC and great brakes, great suspension and steering, no weird noises or leaks. All the windows go up and down one touch, as well as the power top and power seats. The lady who I bought it from did have an accident in the car years ago. She showed me photos to prove the damage wasn't too bad. Unfortunately, this led the insurance company to consider it a total loss and issue a salvage title on it. She spun out around a corner and ended up hitting the guard rail in the front. The damage consisted of the hood, front bumper, headlights, and electric fan. Also some front core support. She said there was no airbag deployment and the car was driveable. She ended up having it fixed herself and had all those parts replaced, along with having the frame checked on a laser frame machine. The car was then re certified by the motor vehicle department and issued a Restored Salvage title which means it meets all the safety and operational guidelines like it did when new. I even have full coverage insurance on it through Geico! The car drives just like every other M Roadster I've test driven, even nicer actually. It does have some of the typical Z3 quirks and little items that I want to list for you. Pulls slightly to right, the drivers door lock just spins when you turn the key so I use the passenger or trunk lock.(new handle with lock cylinder is $279 I believe. Also sometimes you have to push on the door slightly when opening to relieve pressure on the handle since it's worn. Should go away with new handle.). The cup holder and center console flip up covers don't stay on when you open them, the hinges are cracked so they just come off. Visually you don't notice but could use new snap in cup holder console off ebay. I've seen them for under $80. Also, there are lots of tiny rock chips on the hood and front bumper, and a tiny star in the corner of the rear bumper. Also, there is a scrape on the bottom of the right rear exhaust tip from a driveway or something I'd imagine. You can also see the little bit of curb rash on the rear wheels in the photos. Like all these Z3 and M Roadsters the zip in rear window isn't as clear as it could be. Maybe some extra plastic polish or maybe zip in a new one someday($160 on ebay). Doesn't leak or anything, I'm just picky. I believe there is only one door ding, on the passenger door, which you can only see from certain angles(paintless dent repair for $50). Otherwise, this is a fantastic and super fast and fun vehicle!! Very rare and collectible, I'm just a car nut and am on to find a Z4 or Porsche Boxster now(Trades?). I've had 5 of these Z3 type vehicles and this is by far the best one I've driven. 240 Horsepower hand built M motor. An M3 inside the Z body. 0-60 claimed was about 5 seconds. Close ratio gearbox with short shift, limited slip rear end, M3 brakes and motor, along with the coolest seats BMW has ever made! Even dual quad tipped exhaust! Don't miss out on this rare car and thanks for looking.
