You are bidding for a 2 owner 1962 Oldsmobile Starfire! 1962 is the most desirable year for the Starfire with its powerful 394ci V-8 putting out 345bhp and 440ft lbs of torque through a "slim jim" 3 speed automatic transmission. We purchased the car from the original owner with all the original documentation including bill of sale, warranty papers and the all important protect-o-plate included. After we purchased the car 6 years ago, we went through everything and installed brand new white wall tires, shocks, front end bushings, all new drum brakes, hood liner, exhaust, trunk carpeting, engine detailing including removing the accessories and painting it correct Oldsmobile red along with air cleaner decorative plate , and a full tune up. The floor pans and trunk are very solid, I undercoated the undercarriage to preserve it. The engine is all original and still runs very strong and idles smooth. The "slim jim" transmission shifts through all the gears like it should and still in great running condition. The car had a restoration back in the early 1980's and it's showing it's age. The exterior has some minor wear and tear, such as a few minor scratches, and the side trim is showing its age with some fading. There is also some old body work done on the front right fender before we purchased the car that hasn't held up over time that will need a little attention. This Starfire is a original A/C car and the system is still in place just not working at the moment. The other area's that will need some attention is that the clock stopped working, and the original wonderbar radio is still in the car, but that isn't working at the moment either. The rest of the interior is in great shape besides a minor rip in the drivers seat cushion. These are all minor fixes that won't take away from the enjoyment of driving this Starfire! I picked up another car so my garage space is limited so unfortunately something had to go, that's the only reason why I'm parting with this beautiful example of a 1962 Olds Starfire at NO RESERVE!. The car is located in Astoria Queens NY and is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction early should it sell privately. A $500 deposit is required within 24 hours and the total amount is to be paid in full with either a bank check, money wire, or cash within 7 days of auctions end.
