Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is a classic 7 series automobile designated as an E32 body chassis by BMW. I have owned this car since January of 2001 and have driven it and maintained it well. I have a black binder with receipts from all repairs and parts replaced. I did 90% of the work on this car; I am a car guy and a member of the BMWCCA. The pictures speak for themselves. This car is virtually rust free except for a scratch on the passenger side front door. There are no dents, just a minor ding or two, but none that are large. The interior is good for its age. I put real sheepskin covers on the front seats, purchased from Rocky Mountain Sheepskins (they advertise in all the car mags) a couple years back - $179 each. The rear seats are in good condition with no tears or scratches. Carpet in good condition with BMW carpet mats. The engine and transmission run very well. This car has 196k miles over its 22 year life - you can do the math. It is better to get an older car with normal miles that has been well maintained vs. an old car with low miles in my opinion. as the wearable parts have been replaced. The drive train performs fantastically and the V12 has punch when you need it. The tranny has never had any slippage and the LSD in the differential works great in the snow. What the car needs: the drivers window does not go down and I have a new regulator I will give to the buyer that I never installed. There is leak in the hose for the windshield washer that I haven't got around to and the upper pan gasket weaps, and the AC could use a charge. I think the brake bomb is getting a little weak. This is a car that went for $72k new back in 1990. I have a copy of the sticker from a 750iL that came off the line a month after mine to back that up. I would like this car to go to someone that will appreciate it and take care of it for years to come. It is truly a fine motorcar. Below is a summary of repairs I have made. It excludes oil and filter changes that I did every 3k miles along with things like bulbs and minor fixes. 1-May-99 valve control valves replaced 1-Jan-01 brake servo replaced 2-Jan-01 resealed PS box and timing chain tensioner 1-Feb-01 replaced front/rear rotors and pads 28-May-01 replaced heater valves 5-Jun-01 replaced expansion tank 12-Jun-01 replaced 2 fuel filters 31-Oct-01 replaced thermostat 29-Mar-02 replaced trunk shocks 1-Jun-02 eliminated hydraulic suspension and installed new springs and shocks 12-Sep-02 replaced head gaskets, new spark plugs fan clutch, intake boot, many gaskets 1-Oct-02 installed 16" E38 basketweaves and new tires 12-Nov-02 replaced coolant level sensor and heater hose 20-Nov-02 replaced battery 11-Jun-03 replaced driveshaft and center bearing 28-Mar-04 replaced differential fluid 25-Jul-04 replaced rear pitman arms 9-Dec-04 replaced tranny fluid 26-Feb-05 replaced fuel lines 8-Oct-05 replaced pulley and two fan belts 29-Oct-05 overhauled both throttle bodies and replaced vacuum hoses 26-Nov-05 replaced water pump, radiator, upper and lower hoses, and AC belt 21-Feb-06 replaced battery 10-Apr-06 replaced front end components 10 piece control arm set and front end alignment 2-Jan-07 replaced both oxygen sensors 6-Jan-07 replaced tension and pulley and alternator belt 9-Feb-07 replaced 12 fuel injectors and spark plugs and 2 fuel pressure regulators 3-Mar-07 replaced both crankshaft sensors 11-Mar-07 replaced radiator (shop broke it) 11-Mar-07 replaced brake light switch 26-Apr-07 replaced spark plug wires $$$$ 7-Apr-08 replaced upper and lower control arms 29-Jun-08 replaced front pads and rotors changed tranny fluid 9-Dec-08 replaced ignition switch 25-Mar-09 replaced tie rods 9-Apr-09 replaced both fuel filters 10-Apr-09 replaced fuel pump 28-May-09 replaced PS pump and alternator 1-Nov-09 replaced lower control arms/stabilizer links 5-Jun-10 4 new tires and AC recharged 29-Jul-10 new rear Bilstein shocks 20-Sep-10 car completely repainted, bumpers removed to fix light rust, and a couple dings removed 27-Nov-10 replaced water pump, and hoses 3-Dec-10 replaced idler arm and tie rod 18-Apr-11 replaced battery 25-May-11 replaced front struts with Boge EOM 28-May-11 replaced heater valves and aux water pump 1-Jul-11 replaced DS control arms 31-Aug-11 replaced Bosch blower motor 11-Oct-11 replaced distributor caps and wipers 14-Jan-12 replaced rear pads and rotors
