Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is an Original 79 T/A 6.6 in original Red, I aquired the car from the second owner who had the car since 1984, the car has been garaged since that time. It was taken off the road in 1995 and was started and driven occasionally for the last 17 years. The paint is mostly original, I found a small area on the drivers side quarter panel between the rear wheel and the door that had a small area of bodywork (minor dent I presume) and thats it. Still has all the original decals in good shape.I went over the car with a magnet and found it to be 100% metal. The paint is faded and the car has some small dings and scratches. It is presentable as an original paint driver, but will need to be resprayed to be mint, this would be an easy paintjob as the car need virtually no bodywork. The interior is in great condition with only one split seam on the driver bucket seat, dash, console, interior panels are excellent originals with very little of the typical fading. Has an working aftermarket cassette player and equalizer that was popular in the early 80's, it does not appear that the dash was altered or cut for this installation. The shaker scoop was trimmed out and mounted to the hood, as was fairly common back in the days the were roaming the streets. The has its original 6.6 liter 403 Olds V8 engine that runs great, is quiet and does not smoke. The car drives great and stops fine. The A/C is complete but most likely needs a charge after not being used for so long. Glass is all in great condition. Has goodyear eagle tires that were replaced recently. Please feel free to call with any questions or to make an appt to see the car in person if you are local. 516-526-1448 All in all a great original car to use as is, or an easy restoration to have a mint original rust free example of a 79 T/A I can add a buy it now for serious bidders if we come to an agreement on a price.
