Hello... We are putting "Walter" up for sale. A friend of mine found him in San Fransisco at an estate sale, so we bought him. We are still researching his past, but I believe that he was a one person owner for quite some time. He had sat for around 10 years after the gentleman stopped driving him, after he passed, he was sold with another beetle at his estate sale. After we bought the bug, I flew down to drive him home, but he was not ready for such a drive! I shipped him up and began bringing him back to life. I have found out it has a 1600 block now. He has a few dings here and there, but nothing that takes away from his good looks! There are a few dents and dings, passenger door has a couple of dents and the top has several dents as well. I have replaced the plugs and wires, repaired the brakes..replaced the voltage regulator. And replaced the wind shield wipers. I have also replaced the door panels, put in a new 7 piece carpet kit, recovered the rear seat..also the front seats, but they are still needing the foam cushions. I have draped the new covers over the seat frames, with a bit of padding for comfort. I also replaced the door seals and have new seals for the hood and deck lid. Walter runs excellant with plenty of power, shifts great through all the gears, and is a pleasure to drive. Handles very nice too. The brakes work good. All the lights work, and the blinkers. Wind shield wipers work great, and the heat will blow you out. It is rust free other than the area behind the seat, under the rear window.. it will need to be patched. The pan is rust free, and very solid. I just put new tires on the rear, and the front tires are still new also. All the glass is good and free of cracks and breaks. He gets smiles and waves wherever he goes. Also gets excellant fuel mileage. He is currently registered and licensed in California, and has a clean and clear California title. The headliner is original and has some rips..but is still not too bad. It is missing the drivers side sun visor. I replaced all of the fuel lines and clamps and moved the fuel filter out of the engine compartment. The paint is the original L620 Savanna Beige. The body piping is the original beige also. All of the bumpers and brackets are original and correct. The original jack and tire wrench are there, along with a bald spare tire! I have not been able to get the horn to work..It is getting power, but will not blow..He is also missing one of the back up lights. Somehow while writing the original description, I believe I forgot to mention that Walter is all original, minus the front seats...which I bought thinking they were 67 seats..I believe now that they are earlier..not 100% sure. The door panels and carpet kit, which I also replaced....and the front door seals. All of the sheet metal is original...The paint is original to the car, and all of the glass except for the windshield is the original Sekurit etched glass. The running boards and the piping on the body are original beige that came from the factory.. This bug has not been altered like so many cars of this year..The headliner is also original, though shows its age for a car that has been used. The brakes work well, although I have not gone through the brake cylinders to rebuild them.
