Vehicle Detail
A little about the car......I am the third owner. The car was imported to Houston,TX then sold to a doctor who moved here to Panama City, Fl. I then bought it last year with the hopes of driving while restoring. The car is all original from the motor, transmission, interior, top, EVERYTHING! It is a Euro model so it is rare and has the extra horsepower. The car is in need of restoration to bring the big $. I don't have the time or money like I thought I would and still use as a daily driver. This car runs, very good breaks, clutch is tight with no slipping, tires are about new with 85 - 90% tread left, and transmission shifts smooth. Recent tune up, fuel injector cleaning, fuel pump, pop off valve, alternator, AC belt, warm up regulator, and fuel accumulator. New blue tooth CD/Radio. New rear speakers (believe it or not the front speakers are original and work). Has spare tire but no jack or tool kit. Has owner's manual but missing the cabriolet supplement manual. Original glass with German stamp. Like I said.....this car is so original that it seems a shame to restore because of it's interesting patina. NO RUST! vin# WPOZZZ91ZDS150647 What it needs:odometer stopped working last year at around 75,900. I have put approximately 5k more miles since I bought it. $500small crack in dash $150missing driver rear wheel lug $15#3 cylinder shows low compression so would want to rebuild top end for fresh motor $2500Needs painting $2500Needs seats recovered $800Needs window portion of convertible top replaced $350missing passenger sun visor $150missing driver side door map pocket and lid $350needs chain tensionor upgrade $850needs front tie rod ends $500Has AC but needs conversion to new refrigerant system (blower works) $900intermittent wiper delay doesn't work ?headlight washers don't work ?windshield washer doesn't work ? Approximate cost to restore like new.....................................................................................................$10000 Everyone, Keep in mind with the head job and tie rod ends this car is a daily driver. THE MOTOR DOES NOT NEED AN OVERHAUL! The #3 cylinder is low on compression and allowing exhaust to escape making it sound loud when you get on the throttle. This was most likely caused by a broken head stud. You wouldn't want to just fix the #3 cylinder since the motor has to be dropped so this is the time to take off both heads and send them off to be reworked. It looks and runs good. The rest can be done at your pace. I am not going to give this car away as it is a rare Euro model and completely original. I do have a low reserve to allow for restoration as these cars bring $24k - $28k restored. Happy bidding!
