Vehicle Detail

This buggy is a Meyers Manx replica. I couldn't figure out who the exact body kit manufacturer is. The title states it is a 1973 Special Construction. The engine donor was a 1964 VW and it was rebuilt within the last 5-6 years. I don't have a full history on the buggy. I am a reseller and it has been bought/sold/traded a couple times in it's lifespan. I have driven it about 100 miles around town on errands just for fun. It's really fun to drive. The engine is very healthy sounding. It starts easily without much effort. The clutch is good. The brakes are good, although it will pull some to the left if you get on the brakes hard. The fiberglass body is in great condition too. There are some scratches, and nicks that have been touched up here and there. It has been around a while. And there are some stress lines in the paint if you look closely.  The wheels (pacer rims) and tires are in excellent condition. The seats are very comfortable. I had longer seatbelts installed behind the originals (which were shorter and not secure enough for my safety comfort). I also had rear seatbelts installed so that you can seat rear passengers with buckles. The convertible top and installation snaps are in great shape, but I don't drive with it on because I am too tall.  The lights, wipers and horn works so it should pass safety inspection requirements. (I haven't had it inspected) The air breather up front isn't functional (of course you knew that). It was mounted there to cover the unconventional look of a gas cap in the center of the hood. The finger bolt spins off to give access to the gas cap underneath the breather, when you need to refill. Unfortunately the gas pouring skills of the prior owners was less-than-ideal, as you can see by the faded/blistered paint around the center of the hood. The decal stripes on the hood conceal some of that damage. As far as I know, there is no major damage or issues on the buggy that would create a concern. I've only had it a few months to play with before selling, but it's been real fun. It doesn't leak fluids or oil, however there is a boot (cv or axel boot?) that I had sealed to keep from leaking. It's a $12 replacement boot that I meant to have done. It's the kind that is split so it can be installed without undoing the axle. The carpet is fine under the mats and the rear passenger area, but there is an area back between the seats that is exposed. I have it covered with a mat because it may need to be accessible for maintenance. The parking brake is not functional. Please watch this short video for more detail: On Aug-28-12 at 20:29:29 PDT, seller added the following information: The air cleaner is NOT permanently attached to the hood of the car. It is bolted to the gas cap only so it is easy for the new owner to remove it if they don't like it there.
