Vehicle Detail

This is a REAL Model 66-A DeLuxe Pickup. One of the rarest of the Model A Ford Body Styles. The truck Sadly does not have its original bed. It was removed 50 years ago by a previous owner and replaced with a narrow bed. The Deluxe Pickup was built in late 1931. This truck came from the factory with a Briggs Built Custom Bed, Cowl Lights, Stainless radiator Shell, Cowl Band, Stainless headlights and Chrome Bumper. 293 were built. Originally sold for General Electric Refrigerator Salesmen. Most were painted white. This truck still has its original white paint, covered by a green re-paint and then primer (40 years ago). It has its correct late 31 Budd cab with all steel top. The truck was put in a barn about 1980. It was last run regularly in 1976 by the owner previous to me. He had the motor rebuilt, drove it in the summer of '76 and parked it. I put a new battery, carb, fresh distributor, another set of tires I had(and wheels), fresh gas and she fired right up. Sounds good , idles smooth, no smoke. I have installed a new engine wiring harness . It runs well and is a driver. I will attach a video of it running. I am hoping this truck goes to someone with the resources to build a correct bed for it. It is priced fairly for what it is. I do not expect it to bring the money it would if it had the correct bed. But I still have it priced just above what the truck would bring if it were a regular widebed. The idea behind this is I would rather it go to a restorer and be brought back to what it once was. The previous owner knew what it was and was very careful to point out that he filled the holes in the cab corners where the original bed bolted to the cab. I removed the body filler on one side and left the other so new buyer could in fact verify it is the real deal. There are special pieces of wood inside the cab that the bed bolts to thru the cab. This wood is still present on both sides, and matches the bolt pattern. I have had a couple other very knowledgeable "model A" guys look this truck over and both agreed it was a 66A. Late 31 steel top, indented firewall too. original factory holes for the cowl lights, and original white paint (all photographed). Original Sparton horn. Please ask questions before bidding. I am available to show it in person, just ask. I will let the pictures speak to condition as well. Basically complete, minus original bed and rear fenders, has narrow bed now. Frame is straight and solid, fenders are savable. Good cab, with very little rust anywhere. Been in a Barn 40 years now. (I know history before previous owner too). The 1931 California Plates will only go with the truck if it is sold in CA. It will start right up and drive onto your trailer (or haulers trailer). Clear matching title. Ask questions before bidding. Feel free to view it in person if you are local enough to do so. Read the terms of sale and only bid if you can meet them, they are non negotiable after the auction ends. I have lowered my price on this truck to point where I have had many offeres already, so do not wait too long.
