Up for straight auction is my 1995 Mazda Protege LX 5-speed manual. This car has been my daily driver for over three years. It has been a wonderful car and has saved me thousands of dollars in gas for my long commutes (I have logged over 67,000 miles with it). It consistently gets 35 miles to the gallon on the highway and only has an 11.5 gallon tank. It can fit four reasonably (five if a child sits in the middle of the rear seat). I installed brand new aftermarket rims less than a year ago and they are still flawless. Tires are decent with the exception of one (bad alignment wore it down). I have only had to replace minor things here and there. Unfortunately, the vehicle is showing its age. The headliner is in rough shape, some of the seals leak when it rains hard, the paint is starting to go in some spots, there is a rust spot on the driver's side behind the rear door, and the interior could use a good steam cleaning. The a/c compressor needs replaced due to a bad compressor clutch. The car runs great but will need new front wheel bearings, an alignment, and attention to the front brakes. I installed new front brake calipers, pads, and rotors, but was unable to get the air to bleed (it doesn't leak fluid, but could be a bad seal somewhere). I do not recommend this vehicle being driven home in it present condition. All in all, will a little attention, this would be a great car again and could help someone out tremendously if gas stays over $4 a gallon.
