leckpa Store I recently picked this vehicle up to save it from the scrap yard -NO TITLE- FOR PARTS ONLY- I am told it is a 1965 scout "Red Carpet Special" built to celebrate 100,000 IH scouts being built. Note the vent cover on the dash padded door panels, red shifters and steering column, seats, etc ', mostly complete, has a 4 cyl. engine - appears to be complete, trans and transfer case intact, rear drive shaft missing, 5 lug wheels, the badges on the doors read " custom" and the others are pictured, the radio is intact but the selector button to the right is partially broken, the knob and buttons do move the station selector, the back seat seems restorable, hard top restorable -rear hatch works. The doors open and close, windows go up and down, bottoms of doors are a bit rough, headlight bezels are in good condition, stainless mirrors are intact but need tlc, the plow frame on the front seems original - the light bezel has an IH stamped on it, the wipers and mechanicals are intact, the frame does not appear to be shot although I couldnt get under it totally to check it out. The dash panel seems complete and restoable. The body is trashed but I think there are alot of good parts on it -to the right person!. THANKS On Aug-24-12 at 14:17:26 PDT, seller added the following information: I put a battery in it and hooked up my charger - the engine does turn over if you short the starter selenoid - sounds ok but wont fire with gas in the carb. I am willing to supply the info needed to apply for a lost title. Thank you
