Vehicle Detail

$1000 for a running Series 2 931. Exterior is two tone Gold over Brown (sorry, too lazy to look up the official paint code). Interior is typical brown. To sum it up, the car is pretty sound mechanically, but has a lot of cosmetic issues. See details below. THE GOODRuns strong. Pulls strong. Trans is good. Glass is all good. Functioning DITC. New fuel pump. New alternator. New fuel pump relay. As far as I can tell, the S2 exhaust manifold is not cracked. Sport Bilsteins on all four corners, about a year old. Five lug suspension (as far as I know, original 5-lug, not a conversion). Identified and repaired a leak in the battery tray / cowl that caused water to drip on the fuse block. Repaired the fuel pump relay connections as well.THE NOT SO GOOD Has hailstone damage on the hood, with some areas of surface rust. Has a small crease in the driver side front fender. Has a sizeable dent in the rear passenger side quarter near the gas filler door. Has rust starting to come thru the rear quarter behind the driver side rear wheel. Has various other areas where rust is starting to bubble thru the paint. Paint is rough, with several areas where the clearcoat is peeling. Seats are thrashed (but covered with some el cheapo seat covers) Carpet is thrashed. Needs new seals for sunroof and hatch. Slight oil drip from the turbo area (although turbo spools fine, and pulls strong) Rear hatch frame is good, but the spoiler rubber is starting to lift in peel in a few places (typical, due to sun exposure) Needs new tires. Mileage unknown due to broken odometer. The usual electrical faults (i.e. mirrors, window switches, etc. may not all work, too busy to chase it all down on a $1000 car). WHEELS & TIRESThe car will come with your choice of ONE of the following: A. set of roller tires (i.e. NOT SAFE FOR DRIVING) on rattle-canned 15" black spider webs B. set of winter tires with one more season left in them on 15" phone dials C. for an additional $400 above the price of the car, a set of staggered D90s with roller tires (i.e. REALLY NOT SAFE FOR DRIVING). NOTE: THE WHEELS IN THE PHOTOS ARE THE D90s AND ARE NOT NOT NOT INCLUDED IN THE $1000 PRICE. IF YOU WANT THESE WHEELS, THE PRICE WILL BE AN ADDITIONAL $400.OTHER GOODIES I have a set of brown hood stripes (triple bar) with "931" in that funky 70s font that I was going to put on to cover up some of the imperfections on the hood, but never got around to it. Included for FREE. Have a bunch of other brown interior bits (good quarter liners, updated sun visors, and other bits and pieces) that I will include for FREE. So here's the deal. I'm out of room, and out of time, and my two boys are out of patience trying to learn how to maintain a 30 year old idiosyncratic car. I'm giving it 4 weeks to sell.PRICE IS FIRM. CAR IS FOR SALE LOCALLY, SO I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO END THE AUCTION EARLY.
