jthejedi Store ATTENTION: This vehicle, while otherwise sound, apparently has a broken synchro and does not shift into 2nd gear - all other gears function normally and the car has been driven almost daily since November as is with no worsening of the condition. CONDITION This BMW remake of an iconic vehicle has been well maintained at a certified MINI garage. Its body and exterior have been in no accidents and are clean of all but minor scratches or chips. The engine runs strong with no hesitation and their are no fluid leaks of any kind. However, as mentioned above, its transmission no longer has an operational 2nd gear. Nevertheless, the car is quite drivable. Since November of last year it has been driven almost every day (including commuting to/from University) by shifting directly from 1st to 3rd gear, without any problems or worsening of the situation- we completely flushed the transmission and replaced the fluid with BG super synthetic fluid immediately after the problem with 2nd gear showed up. It appears to be just a broken synchro, but of course this requires getting into the transmission to fix. The only other problem, again very common on Minis, is that the airbag sensor light is on. Overall, a classy, operational car with great gas mileage which has room for some improvements that would enhance the ride experience.
