This FJ-40 has spent its entire life in the hot dry climate of the beautiful Southwest. The drive train starts with the original 6 cylinder engine that has good compression and runs like a top. The transmission is a manual 3 speed and goes through all the gears with the greatest of ease. The clutch is good with plenty of pedal. The interior has been reupholstered and rhino lining applied. All the window moldings have been replaced as well as the seals. The tires are BF Goodrich AllTerrains and are just about new. Everything is in proper working order including lights, blinkers, gauges, wipers, and 4 wheel drive. The paint is the only thing that can stand to be redone but that would be optional, depending on what one was going to do with it. FJ-40s in this condition are getting harder and harder to find, especially with low original miles like this one. With a few minor cosmetics, this would easily be an $18,000 + vehicle. I would not hesitate to drive this 43 year old vehicle cross country, but it might take a little while being that it is geared low.
