Please contact me if you have less than 6 feedback score for more information... Thanks. I am listing this 1962 Triumph TR3 with about 72,000 miles for a member of my church. She and her now ex purchased it about 7 years ago from the original owner, but not 100% sure if she's the second owner. She has title and full ownership, and wants to sell and move on. The car was mostly used by her ex-husband so I have limited work history about this TR3. Also, she has a "British Motor Industry Heritage Certificate (see photo)" record which states that this TR3 was built in September 7th, 1962, and its original color was black, not red. The TR was sitting at a local Marina (with car cover) not too far from me for at least 6 to 8 months or so before I brought it to my house to get it running again. I had to air pressure clean the fuel lines, and replaced one of the carburetor floats in order to get it running, and it runs very well! Mechanically, I would say that this Triumph is in very good condition. Oil pressure is high, does not overheat whatsoever, and all gauges work, including the turning lights. The brakes work well too. The gas tank will need to be replaced or reconditioned for it has rust. One can tell that good money was spent on the vehicle not too long ago, for the wheels, tires, and top are practically new. I also noticed that some of the brake lines are new, in particular on the rear wheels. It's my conclusion that not too long ago this TR3 was cosmetically respectable, but has never gone through a professional ground-up restoration. As the attached images demonstrate, the TR has rust issues which need attention, from the floors, to some of the body panels and in the trunk area too. The rust condition is typical, and as expected, but nothing that can't be fixed. I have seen a lot worse! The frame is solid though. At one point someone put wood panels over the floors to cover the holes, (see photos). The floor boards have rust but are mostly there (see photos). This vehicle photographs better than it looks in person because of its bright red color. Also, the bonnet and the driver side front panel were repainted at one point because they are in better condition than the rest of the car, but overall, the paint finish on this TR is weak. The trunk carpet and a nice back wood panel to cover the gas tank are included, I took them off to show its naked condition. In my opinion, I think that whomever purchases this TR3 should consider a ground up restoration, but that's just me. Still, one can enjoy the TR the way it is for a while, but the rust issue would need to be addressed at some point. In conclusion, if you are looking for a red TR3 and want to take it to the next level without spending too much money on one that has been completely restored, then I think this one may be worth your consideration. Although I am mostly familiar with TR6s, these TR3s are easy and fun to work on anyone's garage thus saving lots of money in labor!! Thanks for your interest and don't hesitate to contact me with any questions... Good luck! This is a NO RESERVE LISTING, so this is a good opportunity to acquire a nice TR3. Serious eBay members only, PLEASE!! As you can see per my feedback I don't play games so extend me the same courtesy. There's a $1,000 deposit due within 24 hours, so make sure this is what you want before bidding, and that your financials are in order too! I will be glad to assist with shipping arrangements and can even refer you to a trusted transportation company that I personally use, but all costs are buyer's responsibility. No Warranties whatsoever, sold as is. If you are going to need more than 7 days to collect the vehicle let me know in advance so that I can coordinate things with the owner. Know that I always try to be as accommodating as much as I can, but communication is the key! I have the right to end listing before the end of auction if sold locally, which is very unlikely but I have to mention it. Feel free to contact me with any questions via email or at 727.522.2531 TO MEMBERS: I am not a dealer, I provide a service to individuals in need of listing their particular vehicles unless stated above. Most of the people that I list for; don't know how to use a computer, don't have the time, and/or don't want the aggravation. I do not take possession of the vehicle nor the title, I just list for them. It's important to express that I just don't list anybody, I check all paperwork, examine items, and test them myself including driving them if applicable. If I don't feel comfortable with the item, or individual I will pass on the opportunity! I consider myself mechanically inclined, and have a very good eye for paint finish, bodywork, etc, for I used to work for a restoration shop back in my days while attending college! Satisfied eBay members is the most important part of any listing transaction that I make. As much as one tries to best describe or list issues about any particular vehicle, it's impossible to account for all possible things that can go wrong with a machinery. It will probably be a good idea to have the vehicle inspected before the end of auction to be 100% sure. Know that I will always try to list as accurate as possible in order to avoid unnecessary issues. Of course it's always challenging to satisfy all members all the time, but I will try to do my best in continuing enjoying my current feedback status with your help! So, bid with confidence and contact me with any questions!
