Vehicle Detail
I've had too many inquiries by email so I decided to list my phone number to make it easier. If you're serious about the car and want to know more about it you can call me at 48O-788-44O9....thanks This ultra rare car that is almost completely original and was NEVER modded. Still has the original exhaust and I believe the original ford factory starter. Almost all the parts I could identify are date coded 72. I did however notice the alternator was newer. Rust is very, very, very minimal...the car resided in Arizona its whole life. This would make and easy restore for someone or a great car to trick out. The title says 163 miles because that is what the odometer said but obviously it has been turned over once so actual mileage is 100,163 I bought this car at a Veterans Charity Auction and intended to keep it but I can't. This was a one owner car. I have only had it like five months and put like eight miles on it. The man who previously owned it worked for the Department of Defense here in Arizona. He ordered it new and drove it to back and forth to work but unfortunately after retirement he got sick, ended up in the veterans hospital and eventually died. The car sat in a makeshift garage for over 22 years and still has tags on it from 1989. It has not been registered in over 23 years. When I went to purchase this car I sprayed some starting fluid in the car and it started right up but sputtered so I figured it just needed the carburetor cleaned so I towed it home, drained the old gas and took the carburetor to a shop and had it professional rebuilt. I have all receipts. I'm NOT a mechanic but after having the carburetor rebuilt I bolted it on and it started right up, idled great, and I drove it around but it seemed to lag power so I took it to a friend and he did a compression test. He said the compression was low in a cylinder and that it could be stuck rings because it sat for so long or it could need to be overhauled. I really have no clue, no tools, and no money to find out. Recently I've had problems getting it started. I'm thinking the fuel pump is clogged because of the old fuel that was left in the lines. A/C is complete and I believe all original but does not blow cold air, could just be low on freon? I have a video below of the car running. I was told it has good oil pressure. This car is far from perfect and obviously needs work. Remember that its over 40 years old and sat for nearly half of that but I think the person looking at this car knows what they are buying and what it would take to get this car to a 10. NADA Low book is $9,500 and average retail is over $15,500...High retail on this car is over $25,000. You could make some money on it or clean it up and have a jewel of a car at low book. Glass is great windows roll down just one chip in front window that could easily be fixed. Brand new battery that is 1 day old... June 2, 2012 Before it was fully started the: Radiator was flushed Oil changed Transmission fluid flushed Power steering fluid flushed Old gas drained rebuilt carburetor New plugs and wires. New master cylinder installed and the brake fluid flushed and bled. Whoever gets this car is going to get a good one....good luck! This car also has tilt wheel. All lights work including sequential rear. Cruise control, intermittent wipers, built in radar and power rear antenna was something he added after market.
