Up for sale is a 1976 FJ40 with original numbers matching 2F engine. I have owned this vehicle for just over a year and have used it as a daily driver. Mechanically, it runs great and has been reliable. Generally takes a few minutes to warm up then it will go anywhere you ask it to. There is a small oil leak, appears to be from the rear main seal. It was never bad enough to worry about and only goes through a quart every couple months. Winch and 4WD drive work good. Heater, both front and rear work good. To my knowledge the only mechanical issues it has is the Ammeter reads 0 and the back up lights don't work. The body and tub are solid with very little rust. There are a couple small pinholes under the drivers seat. There are a few places where the paint is starting to crack/peel, but overall it still looks pretty good (this is not original paint, please see pictures to see the two places where paint has come off and some of the cracking). The interior is in good shape. There is a detachable face cd player with speakers on the roll bar and in the back. It is missing the headliner and the pull handle on the drivers side is broken. This is by no means a show car, but makes a great daily driver. It has been fun to own and gets attention and compliments everywhere it goes.
